Activities at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Paula Lourenco
Hello, my name is Paula and I’m the Activities coordinator at Tewkesbury Fields care home. I’ve joined Barchester healthcare in 2020.
As part of the lifestyle enrichment team, I will be organising daily activities, ensuring that residents have varied activities to choose from each day. I love enriching our residents’ lives, creating memories and be able to provide meaningful activities to each one of the residents living at Tewkesbury fields.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Teddy Bear's Picnic
We were delighted to welcome the local community, resident's families, their grandchildren and great grandchildren, friends and neighbours to our annual Teddy Bears Picnic.
They brought an array of Bears for us all to admire and it was lovely to hear stories about their teddy's - one teddy was 80 years old!
We've welcomed The Music Man David Lloyd who kept not only the children but also the grown ups entertained.
It was so much fun Residents had a great time meeting the younger generation.

Prestigious award for our General Manager
We are delighted to announce that Edrianne Baluyut is 2024 General Manager of the Year for the Central region. We are also so proud and thrilled for her recognition.
Over 5,250 incredibly high-standard nominations were received this year
Next stop…the nationals! Edrianne will join the winners from across the UK at a special awards event in October in Manchester to celebrate her outstanding achievement and see if she has won a national award.
General Manager, Edrianne Baluyut said: “It is such an honour to have been named Manager of the Year out of all the homes in the entire Central division, I couldn’t believe it when I heard! But this is very much a team effort, I couldn’t have achieved this award without the hard work of everyone here at Tewkesbury Fields so this really is for everyone at the home. I am so proud of our home, our fantastic team and most of all, our wonderful residents.”

Hawaiian Themed Afternoon
What a fabulous Hawaiian themed afternoon.
We welcomed Cheltenham Ukulele Group who played some of our favourite songs beautifully and got us all dancing, clapping, singing along and even in the mood to dress up for great fun.
The chef prepared delicious fresh fruit, refreshments and a tasty pineapple upside-down cake that was enjoyed by everyone.

Organ Recitals at Tewkesbury Abbey
This week we attended the Lunch time organ recitals at Tewkesbury Abbey.
We were welcomed by Head Verger Chris Skepper, we listened to David Beeby play.
The residents at Tewkesbury Fields enjoy visits to the beautiful Abbey and have a great appreciation of organ recitals. We are very fortunate that they are holding them every 2 weeks throughout July/August and September and we look forward to attending as many as possible.
We also met Eric and Florence, the newly appointed "Assistant vergers". What two lovely dogs!

Visit to the Garden Centre
We were not impressed with the weather this week! We were planning a trip to sit by the river, but the weather was not kind. So we went to one of our favourite local garden centres.
At Tewkesbury Fields are residents always enjoy a visit to the garden centre looking at the beautiful plants and having a coffee.

Celebrating World Chocolate Day
We had a fantastic time celebrating world chocolate day. surely one of the best days of the year!
Life enrichment team and head chef prepared delicious melted chocolate with lots of strawberries, bananas, grapes and raspberries. We enjoyed mixing up and creating our own flavours - and did not spill any!
