Activities at Tixover House Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Caroline Geddes
Hello, my name is Caroline and I joined the team at Tixover House in 2023.
I am passionate about creating person-centred activities which ultimately enrich our residents' lives. My main aim is to bring happiness through the doorway daily; spreading smiles, laughter and love - I want to make a difference to the lives of those that we support.

Life at Tixover House Care Home
Tixover Volunteer
Alice came to Tixover as a volunteer during the summer to gain some experience in the care industry. Everyone at the home enjoyed her company. She always had a smile on her face and managed to build up a great connection with the residents.
She will be missed! Alice, we wish you all the best in your future adventures, from all at Tixover!
Holistic Therapy
Ronan was here to massage residents hands, necks and shoulders. His visit was enjoyed by all, and the odd staff member could also be found having a pamper.
Sharing War Memories
For Armed Forces Week we had a British tea party with cake and cucumber sandwiches. We were entertained by Brian Maunders on his guitar, and our guest of honour was The Lord Lieutenant of Rutland, Dr Sarah Furness, who talked to our gentlemen and ladies about the war and other topics. A really god day was had by all, and we were photographed by The Rutland Mercury, and enjoyed the attention
Enjoying the Sunshine
We enjoyed having a walk around our beautiful grounds. Our favourite spot is the fish pond, and the weather was more than kind to us.
Cupcake Day
We celebrated Cupcake day on 13th June, and decorated our cakes to enjoy with family and friends for our afternoon tea. We had a fantastic time doing this, and there was lots of discussion going on around the table about cooking for our own families.
The Big Walk
The Big Walk was done on the grounds of Tixover House; it was a beautiful day and we all enjoyed ourselves. Everyone loved the fresh air and were keen for refreshments when we got back.
