Activities at Tixover House Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Life at Tixover House Care Home
Beach Day
Residents at Tixover House have been desperate to go to the beach ever since the lovely hot weather started. Unable to do this, our activities coordinator came up with the next best thing, she brought the beach to them! With sand brought in and paddling pools our residents enjoyed a wonderful day in the sunshine.
They were spoilt with sweets and treats and even had a freezer full of ice creams donated kindly from Morrison’s. It was a superb day and was such an amazing sensory experience really boosting our residents spirits
Farewell at Tixover House
On Friday 31st Tixover House said a very bittersweet goodbye to their wonderful administrator Denise. Denise has been with the company for 14 years and has been a support and help for so many Staff, residents and relatives. We are very sad to see her go however wish her all the best of her retirement plans.
Thank you!
Tixover House were overwhelmed by the generosity of Stamford Morrison’s. Activities coordinator, Rianna, arranged a day by the seaside and asked the local community for any help they could provide. Jason, the Community champion of Morrison’s Stamford, ensured our residents were spoilt rotten with ice creams, doughnuts and lots more goodies and treats. Tixover House would like to thank everyone at Morrison’s for this incredibly kind and generous donation! It made our residents feel very special indeed!
Somewhere Under the Rainbow
The symbol of a rainbow has been a symbol of hope for many during this pandemic and, if by magic, that symbol arrived at Tixover House when it was needed most in the form of a painting named ‘Somewhere Under the Rainbow.’ Tixover House staff came across this painting, which had previously been donated by a late resident’s family and were taken back by how fitting it was to the current climate.
‘Somewhere Under the Rainbow,’ was painted by artist and late resident, Barbara Mackie. Barbara had a very successful career and was a highly renowned artist, painting influential figures such as Richard Demarco. To this day, her stunning paintings are still kept by the Scottish National Galleries. Tixover House was incredibly grateful to meet and care for this wonderful lady, and were so humbled by the donation of the painting.
Now, almost two years on from her passing, we honour this amazing lady once more and thank her for this wonderful painting of hope, so fitting for the world we find ourselves in now.
Welcome Back!
Tixover House is so happy to be able to welcome our lovely relatives back! Our residents have been missing them and it has been so bizarre not seeing family! Tixover House is very fortunate to have a beautiful courtyard, which makes social distancing very easy! Our lovely maintenance man even put up some gazebos for us to keep us nice and dry! We cannot wait to see more and more familiar faces as the week progress.
Queens Birthday Cake Competition
We recently took part in a company wide competition at Tixover House where we designed our own cake for the Queen’s birthday! With help from our chef Jordan, we were able to create this wonderful masterpiece. Jordan kindly baked us a classic Victoria sponge which the residents then decided to top with buttercream and their favourite fruit. It was a wonderful afternoon enjoyed by the whole home. Our senses were alive with all the wonderful textures, smells and tastes!
