Activities at Tixover House Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Caroline Geddes
Hello, my name is Caroline and I joined the team at Tixover House in 2023.
I am passionate about creating person-centred activities which ultimately enrich our residents' lives. My main aim is to bring happiness through the doorway daily; spreading smiles, laughter and love - I want to make a difference to the lives of those that we support.

Life at Tixover House Care Home
Easter Celebrations
We celebrated Easter with family and friends here at Tixover. Staff had an egg and spoon race, which was won by Rosie. We also had an Easter bonnet parade, followed by an Easter egg hunt that residents thoroughly enjoyed. Our day was rounded off by a seasonal arts & crafts session.
Gardening at Tixover
Margaret is showing our Head of Maintenance, Richard, how to plant the flowers that we started growing in the home.
Margaret is going to support Richard in creating a nice little garden area at the side of the dining room that can be enjoyed by all the residents and visitors
Tixover Games
Two gentleman at Tixover can be seen here enjoying a natter over a game of cards.
Easter Cake Competition
This was Tixover's submission for Barchester's Easter Cake Competition, which was hand-crafted by our Head Chef, Kasia.
Singing for Memory
Singing for memory is always a successful activity that all residents enjoy. Even those who are usually less willing to join in were singing and tapping away on tambourines.
Employee of the Month - February
Congratulations to Steve White, who was named as Tixover's Employee of the Month for February. He recently went above and beyond his normal duties to ensure that the home and residents had warmth, as the whole heating system has failed. He did a 19 hour shift to see that the generator was put into place to provide power to 45 radiators. He is a superstar and everyone voted for him!
