Activities at Tixover House Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Caroline Geddes
Hello, my name is Caroline and I joined the team at Tixover House in 2023.
I am passionate about creating person-centred activities which ultimately enrich our residents' lives. My main aim is to bring happiness through the doorway daily; spreading smiles, laughter and love - I want to make a difference to the lives of those that we support.

Life at Tixover House Care Home
June Open Day
We celebrated all that is British during our June open day. There was entertainment from Brian Maunders, a raffle, and we celebrated Cupcake Day in an effort to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society. Everyone had a fantastic day and there were smiles all round.
Oakham Fire Station
We had a fantastic trip out to Oakham Fire Station. Everyone was in good spirits and we all enjoyed refreshments with the firemen and women.
Oakham Museum
On this beautiful day, we took a trip out with some of the residents to Oakham Museum. Everyone commented on how big it was inside and loved looking at all the exhibits. The museum staff were on hand to assist us and we had a few refreshments in the garden before heading back to Tixover.
Royal Wedding Celebrations
We celebrated the royal wedding with a good ol' British tea party and followed the TC coverage of the big day, where everyone agreed that the couple look fantastic.
Tixover's Got Talent
Singing and dancing was the name of the game, and staff and residents were in fine form (move over X Factor, here we come). There were lots of laughs and fun and games, like carpet skittles and even knitting.
International Nurses' Day
We celebrated International Nurses' Day to recognise all the wonderful work that our Nurses do here day and night. They were presented with a certificate and flowers, in addition to a special water bottle that reminds them to stay hydrated during their shifts.
