Activities at Wadhurst Manor Care Home
On a weekly basis we have many visitors to the home from the people like the University of the Third age and local small animal farms, who bring in their chickens and sheep. We also like to go out shopping and on day trips to local garden centres and when the weather is good picnics and tours of the beautiful local countryside. We have speciality days at the home which could be a theme of a country, or for specific times of year, including Halloween, Bonfire Night or Christmas. We have card games and art classes and a serious knitting team in the home who produce blankets and premature baby clothes for the local maternity unit.

Zoe Aldea
Hi, my name is Zoe and I am the Activities Lead at Wadhurst Manor.
I used to work with veterans for the Royal British Legion, and as an Art Studio Lead for a wonderful charity that built a village for people with learning disabilities.
I believe in the healing power of art, I feel strongly about building confidence and the wellness of our residents. My hobbies include Asian art and philosophy, acupuncture, yoga and martial arts. I believe art is a bridge that unites everyone no matter the race, beliefs or religion.

Bastille Day Celebrations
We kick started Bastille Day with croissants for breakfast, followed by a Bastille quiz. In the afternoon we had a “Let Them Eat Cake” party with an afternoon tea, French music and singing along to the French anthem. We enjoyed reminiscing or holidays and time spent in France.

Happy Hour
Residents made the most of the recent sunshine and spent the afternoon relaxing in the garden with a nice cold glass of Prosecco….or 2!

Royal Ascot with a twist.
Wadhurst Manor celebrated Royal ascot a little different this year. An afternoon of crazy horse races around the home with staff as the jockey's. A sweepstake to guess the winner, Hat decorating with the residents and a cake fit for the Queen. So much fun was had by all.

National Beer Day
If there is a day for it then we celebrate it. National beer day was no different. Residents had a chance to sample these and other beers from all around the world. A few just couldn't decide on their favourite so obviously had to go in for more. A lovely afternoon in the sunshine was had by all.

Celebrating Carers Week
The wonderful staff at Wadhurst Manor were treated to a week of celebrations. There were cupcakes, sweet treats and goody bags for everyone. Sue the general manager knows just how hard they work looking after loved ones on a daily basis. She wanted to make sure she gave something back to say a big Thank you for their care and dedication.
