Activities at Westgate House Care Home
Our role in the home is fundamental to ensuring that our residents enjoy a fulfilling quality of life. We strive to provide a stimulating, creative & varied range of activities & events in the home, which everyone can enjoy whether they prefer social group engagement or one to one interaction. Residents choice is what we aim to provide to the best of our abilities. We enjoy being creative, sharing projects and discussing with our residents the kind of activities they would like to enjoy. Both indoor and outdoor activities are offered to cater for all tastes as well as regular outings to local places of interest.

Life at Westgate House Care Home
Volunteer's Day Celebration
Westgate House celebrated Volunteers' day in June with cheese and wine afternoon. Jonathan, the general manager of the home, thanked members of the community, relatives, volunteers and members of various faith groups, who visit and support us all weekly and monthly. Community engagement is very important to us all at Westgate House.
15 Years of Service Award
Westgate House held a 15 years of Service Award celebration for HCA Pamela Luwugge. Pamela said that she loves working at Westgate House, especially with the residents. Indeed, the staff members are brilliant to work with, because they work as a team and it feels like they are a family.
A Prayer and a Song
Rev. Christy from St Matthew's Church kindly brought her colleagues, Fiona, Brian and Tom from Through Faith Missions to meet and sing with residents. Westgate House is a very multi-cultural and multi-faith home. Rev. Christy is one of our faith visitors, and she specialises in visiting residents in their rooms for one-to-one prayers and blessings, as not all residents are able or wish to be part of our group church services.
Dementia Awareness Day
Dementia Friend, Diane Thomas, met with staff for an informative discuss on spreading awareness of dementia within the local community.
Easter Arts & Crafts
Residents and staff had lots of fun creating some Easter bonnets during our arts and crafts sessions.
Birthday Girl
Resident Ambassador, Rose, had lots of fun celebrated her 93rd birthday here at Westgate alongside fellow residents, loved ones and staff members.
