Activities at Westgate House Care Home
Our role in the home is fundamental to ensuring that our residents enjoy a fulfilling quality of life. We strive to provide a stimulating, creative & varied range of activities & events in the home, which everyone can enjoy whether they prefer social group engagement or one to one interaction. Residents choice is what we aim to provide to the best of our abilities. We enjoy being creative, sharing projects and discussing with our residents the kind of activities they would like to enjoy. Both indoor and outdoor activities are offered to cater for all tastes as well as regular outings to local places of interest.

Kelly and Sandra have worked for Westgate House for over 12 years, so have many years’ experience. They love having fun with the residents and providing a variety of activities.

Beside the Seaside
General Manager, Frances Nri, can be seen above with resident, Rose, making the most of this great weather by spending time at the seaside.
Rainbow Day
We all dressed in bright colours to celebrate our diversity and to support each other and the difference that make everyone unique.
Armed Forces Day
We paid tribute to volunteer, Augustus Webb, aged 94, known during World War 2 as 'Wireman Webb'.
Gus first came to Westgate house in 2002 when his wife, Flo came to live with us. Gus visited Flo daily for over 8 happy years, but Flo sadly passed away in 2010 and Gus has been visiting us three times a week to give his time to the residents who, alongside all the staff, have come to love and respect him.
The staff and residents of Westgate House would like to pay tribute to Wireman Webb, his crew and all the armed forces Personnel who have served the nation.
Emmanuel's Disney Tour
Emmanuel is a young gentleman who came to Westgate House in December 2017 and, as we got to learn more about him, he confided in us that it had always been a dream of his to visit Euro Disney. Jason, one of our Care Practitioners in training, who always has the best interests of his colleagues and residents in mind, kindly volunteered to take Emmanuel himself.
Emmanuel is a very quiet person; he loves watching DVDs and his collection is growing weekly. He often goes to the cinema to see the latest films and he loved Marvel's Black Panther. Emmanuel is also a big fan of the Star Wars saga.
Hangin' Around
A couple of residents have been dedicated to making hanging baskets. All of our hanging baskets have been planted by residents and we are slowly watching their progress.
Musical Magic
Neil visits Westgate House as a relative, as he enjoys singing and playing his guitar. Neil enjoyed playing for residents every Monday morning.
