Activities at Westgate House Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our role in the home is fundamental to ensuring that our residents enjoy a fulfilling quality of life. We strive to provide a stimulating, creative & varied range of activities & events in the home, which everyone can enjoy whether they prefer social group engagement or one to one interaction. Residents choice is what we aim to provide to the best of our abilities. We enjoy being creative, sharing projects and discussing with our residents the kind of activities they would like to enjoy. Both indoor and outdoor activities are offered to cater for all tastes as well as regular outings to local places of interest.

Life at Westgate House Care Home

Song and Smile Parent and Toddler Are Back!
An intergenerational group connection for mother's toddlers and older people in the care homes to interact with one another. The residents had a great time bonding with the toddlers. There was listening to music, singing, talking, laughter and just having lots of fun. It's all about boosting the resident's wellbeing and reducing loneliness. When the session was finished, they were relaxed, and refreshments are given. Everyone involved had a great day. There is never a dull moment in our care home.

Cultural Day
Let's give an a round of applause to staff, residents, family, and friends who took part in the Cultural Day on Saturday. It was exciting seeing staff dressed in their cultural outfits, bringing great food and drink for the party. The residents enjoyed themselves. Looking forward to the next one.

Sensory Activity in the Garden
Sensory activities for adults with Dementia can help them engage in any five senses for instance smell or touch and this improve their moods by reducing stress. The residents favourite sensory object were the beautiful red roses.
We always have a fun time doing sensory activities on a regular basis!
