Activities at Wheatlands Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Life at Wheatlands Care Home

Singing in the Sun

We had a lovely open day; the sun was shining and we all dressed up to sing beautiful songs – seeing the happy faces of the residents was very special; it felt like a bit of normality in our lives.

Apley Farm

Residents enjoyed a lovely trip out on the minibus to Apley Farm and Scotty’s Donkeys. We stroked and fed the animals (except for the Tarantula), sat and enjoyed a lovely cup of tea and little fairy cakes.

Round the World

Residents enjoyed our 'Round the World' to a desert Island. We played beach ball, enjoyed ice creams and paddling in the pool.

Ascot Ladies Day

Residents celebrated Ascot Ladies Day in style with Prosecco and strawberries. We also had our own race game, which was great fun.

Sunflower Saxes

Residents at Wheatlands enjoyed a live performance from the Sunflower Saxes in celebration of Father’s Day.

International Nurses' Day

Residents enjoyed making cards for our doctor's surgery in Much Wenlock. This year, more than ever, we are hugely indebted to all our care staff, and we are incredibly proud to applaud their extraordinary efforts and commitment on this special day of recognition.

International Nurses’ Day is a day to give thanks for the dedication of care givers everywhere, who go above and beyond the call of duty to deliver extraordinary care and support.
