Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

We are one of the first care homes to receive a new dementia care accreditation!
Wheatlands has achieved accreditation for a new standard of dementia care after taking part in a 10 month pilot trialling a new programme developed by dementia care specialists at Barchester Healthcare.
The 10-60-6 dementia programme will replace Barchester's current dementia care programme in order to ensure that the care services provided by our Memory Lane communities for people living with dementia are the best in the sector.
A certificate and trophy were presented to us at a celebratory lunch on 15th August. The presentations were opened by Martin Green who is the Chief Executive of Care England, the largest representative body for independent social care services in the UK.
Wheatland's Divisional Winner
Congratulations to Kim Sharp, who has been named as a Divisional Winner for Apprentice of the Year at this year's Barchester Care Awards.
Oomph
Our Activities Coordinator, Claire Oliver, enjoyed some Oomph Activity with Director of Dementia Care, Caroline Baker, and Phil Harper, our Demetia Care Specialist Advisor. We have recently gained our 10-60-6 accreditation.
Andy Enjoys Painting
Things got a little messy at The Wheatlands recently when resident Andy did a bit of painting. It was a lot of fun for him and he really liked keeping himself busy.
Easter Cake Competition
The residents from Wheatlands have been busy recently as they put together this master piece for the Easter Cake Compeition! They all had a great time making it all together.
