Activities at Wheatlands Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Wheatlands Care Home
National Reminiscing Week
Staff dressed up in their best land army uniforms and classic cars were displayed in the home in recognition of National Reminiscing Week. All residents appeared to have a great time and enjoyed sharing memories of times gone by.
Emergency Services Visit
Emergency services personnel were rewarded for all their hard work with a bacon butty at Wheatlands.
Employee of the Month - March
Congratulations to Administrator, Susie Oakley, who was named as the Employee of the Month for March here at Wheatlands.
Susie is a ray of sunshine; she is always on hand to support others and is continuously enthusiastic and energetic.
Progressive Mobility
Once a month we get a visit from Julie at Progressive Mobility, who gets the residents moving with a mixture of gentle chair exercises, boxercise and netball, which are enjoyed by participants and spectators alike!
Much Wenlock Male Voice Choir
On Tuesday 13th March, we saw the return of one of our favourite local choirs, who arrived in abundance with approximately 30 choir members. They sang their hearts out for residents and families. Unfortunately, due to the mountains of snow we received at Christmas time, we hadn’t seen these lovely gentleman for a while, so they were very warmly welcomed back. All the residents enjoyed an evening with the male voice choir, a tipple of sherry and cakes for everyone to indulge in.
Nutrition & Hydration Week
We took part in a whole week of nutritional and hydrational awareness. This included a worldwide afternoon tea on Wednesday 14th March, which was celebrated around the globe!
Residents, families, staff and the local community were invited to join us for our afternoon tea party, where we had yummy homemade treats alongside wholesome smoothies and fruits to sample! It was a great success and enjoyed by everyone.
