Activities at White Lodge Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators here at White Lodge enjoy the fulfillment of helping residents feel important and a part of something. Meaningful moments are created through laughter and comfort. A varied activities programme is offered for the betterment of residents' bodies and minds, including music for health, 'Oomph' sessions and chair Zumba, in addition to coffee and cake groups that all inevitably lead to giggles and old fashioned singalongs. Also, we organise parties, trips out, walks in the country, bus outings and wonderful entertainers to visit our home. A sneaky tipple is always welcomed with cheese and crackers and, at the end of the day, it is important to go home knowing our activities have made a difference.

Hi my name is Shayla and I'm the activities coordinator here at White Lodge.
Prior to taking the position, I joined White Lodge as care assistant in 2022 and loved every minute of my role. My passion is very much in supporting the day to day lives of the people we care for, it is important to me that our weekly calendar offers rich experiences with music from live entertainers, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.
Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining White Lodge that will make for an enriched activities program to be developed, one that keeps them at the heart of the local community. I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.

Life at White Lodge Care Home
Minibus trip to Sustain Farm Cafe
Outing to the Sustain Farm Café, residents at White Lodge enjoyed a delightful day full of surprises and special moments. Not only did they get to relax in the cozy café, enjoying a lot of great conversation, but they were also pleasantly surprised by a visit from a group of friendly alpacas.
The sight of these gentle creatures brought a sense of calm and joy to everyone, creating a peaceful, tranquil moment that residents will remember fondly. The outing was a wonderful chance for everyone to unwind, chat, and soak in the unique experience, making it a truly memorable day for all.
Stroll in the Snow Garden
At White Lodge, our residents had the pleasure of enjoying a truly magical experience as they strolled through our beautiful garden covered with snow and a bit of sunshine. The stroll provided a peaceful and visually beautiful backdrop setting for residents to connect with nature and enjoy the crisp, fresh air.
Laughter and joy filled the garden as everyone embraced the beauty of the snow, creating unforgettable memories and moments of tranquillity. It was a truly enchanting way to experience the season, offering a perfect blend of relaxation and festive cheer right here at White Lodge.
New Years at White Lodge
The New Year's celebration at White Lodge was a heart-warming and joyous occasion, bringing together residents, their families, and friends to ring in the new year with happiness and unity. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and excitement as everyone gathered to share in the festivities.
The highlight of the evening was when all came together to sing traditional New Year songs, creating a sense of togetherness and marking the start of a fresh year with love and hope.
It was a truly special moment, filled with warmth and camaraderie, as we welcomed the new year in the best possible way—surrounded by those who matter most.
Santa Visit
This year, White Lodge was thrilled to host a special surprise for our residents with a visit from Santa Claus, who was none other than our very own staff members.
The event was filled with laughter and excitement as Santa spread holiday cheer, handing out thoughtful gifts and creating unforgettable moments with our residents.
Their faces lit up with joy as they shared their Christmas wishes, making it a heart-warming and magical occasion. The visit was a beautiful reminder of the love and community spirit we embrace here at White Lodge, creating a festive atmosphere that everyone will cherish.
Christmas Party

Christmas Lights Switch On
The Christmas lights switch-on ceremony at White Lodge was nothing short of spectacular, made even more special by a live performance from a talented band from Cirencester. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation as the band played festive tunes, creating a joyful soundtrack for the grand moment.
When the lights were finally switched on, everyone was mesmerised by the dazzling display, with residents, families, and staff gazing in awe at the beautiful lights illuminating the evening sky.
It was a truly magical occasion that brought the entire White Lodge community together, marking the start of a memorable holiday season filled with warmth, joy, and festive cheer.

Community Fish & Chip Club
Don't dine alone we're welcoming older people to join our residents on the first Friday of each month from 12.00 noon for some friendly conversation and a delicious meal.
