Activities at White Lodge Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators here at White Lodge enjoy the fulfillment of helping residents feel important and a part of something. Meaningful moments are created through laughter and comfort. A varied activities programme is offered for the betterment of residents' bodies and minds, including music for health, 'Oomph' sessions and chair Zumba, in addition to coffee and cake groups that all inevitably lead to giggles and old fashioned singalongs. Also, we organise parties, trips out, walks in the country, bus outings and wonderful entertainers to visit our home. A sneaky tipple is always welcomed with cheese and crackers and, at the end of the day, it is important to go home knowing our activities have made a difference.

Life at White Lodge Care Home

Peter's passion for music

At White Lodge we encourage residents to continue the hobbies and interests they had before moving to our home. In his younger days Peter enjoyed playing his guitar and we are delighted that he has found a renewed enthusiasm for music. Today he decided to restring his guitar and have a little practice. We can't wait for a longer performance from Peter.

A cat visits Memory Lane

Today we took our interactive cat to visit residents in the White Lodge Memory Lane community. The interactive cat was loved and cuddled, and purred in response, while bringing relaxation and comfort to residents with dementia.

A Dominos Contest

A Dominos contest was held at White Lodge today, organised by our Activities Team following a request at a recent residents' meeting. A fun afternoon was had by all.

Enjoying National Chocolate Day

Residents at White Lodge had a choice of classic treats to enjoy on National Chocolate Day - some people even had two bars! While Joyce and nurse Elizabeth are still trying to choose, Doreen and Sue have already found their favourites.

Beautiful roses at White Lodge

White Lodge resident, Gay, enjoys walking around our gardens and observing the changing seasons in our trees, shrubs and flowers. At this time of year the air is filled with the scent of our roses.

Ice cream all round at White Lodge

White Lodge residents enjoyed some ice cream this week, and although it was a bit breezy to go in the garden it didn't stop us having fun making our own cool creations. There was sauce and sprinkles everywhere. Resident Ambassador Jeannie couldn't wait to eat hers.
