Activities at White Lodge Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators here at White Lodge enjoy the fulfillment of helping residents feel important and a part of something. Meaningful moments are created through laughter and comfort. A varied activities programme is offered for the betterment of residents' bodies and minds, including music for health, 'Oomph' sessions and chair Zumba, in addition to coffee and cake groups that all inevitably lead to giggles and old fashioned singalongs. Also, we organise parties, trips out, walks in the country, bus outings and wonderful entertainers to visit our home. A sneaky tipple is always welcomed with cheese and crackers and, at the end of the day, it is important to go home knowing our activities have made a difference.

Life at White Lodge Care Home
Thank you Cricklade School
We have maintained contact with members of local community organisations throughout the recent pandemic and were delighted to receive more stories, letters and pictures recently. These are from young people at Cricklade school. Thank you very much and we hope you are all back at school soon.
Colour in the garden
The White Lodge garden is looking really colourful at the moment, thanks to the help of residents who have enjoyed planting up our pots, raised beds and hanging baskets. We're delighted our garden furniture is looking so inviting, too, having been painted by residents. We love our afternoon teas outside in the sunshine!
Family reunion at White Lodge
We were delighted to resume visits by families this week - and it was very emotional. Jenny was over the moon to see her daughter Jane in person, and Jane was delighted to see her Mum looking so well and happy at White Lodge. This was the first of many garden visits, where the chairs and tables are three metres apart to be extra safe for everyone. We're so pleased for residents and their families and we can't wait for the day when hugs are allowed too.
Treating our lovely gentlemen on Father's Day
On Sunday we treated all of our gentlemen residents to some tasty cakes and sweets to show them how special we think they all are. There were cards, gifts and phone calls arriving all day from their families, too. Peter was very pleased with his bag of treats.
A delicious Cupcake Day
We celebrated national Cupcake Day this week with some delicious treats created by White Lodge's Head Chef. We love our afternoon teas here and no-one could resist these!
Celebrating Carers' Week
Members of the care teams at White Lodge were treated to a lovely celebration cake made by our Head Chef, along with a buffet and cards of appreciation. Carers' Week is a fabulous opportunity to show all of our carers that they are appreciated and loved by residents, families and colleagues, for all their hard work, care and compassion. Thank you all!
