Activities at Wimborne Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Zoe Freeman

Lead Activities Coordinator

I have been working in care since 2019 and love the industry. I came from working on cruise ships and running events and activities there which has set me up to be a successful activities coordinator in care. You will never see me without a smile on my face and always bring my fun and bubbly personality to my job. My favourite part of my job is making people cheerful  and help make their wishes come true to show people that age is just a number and we can have fun no matter what!

Theatre Show Comes to Wimborne

Our residents were visited by the Tickled Pink Production  and enjoyed a fun theatrical  experience. The show ‘Simply Wonderful’ was a stroll down memory lane, full of summer holiday songs of years gone by.

The performers interacted and danced with the residents whilst wearing different summer holiday outfits throughout the show.

Party Time at Wimborne

We had a musical themed summer party this year. Our reception and lounge were decorated with posters and props from musical films and shows. Residents participated in games and entertained by Alice Hayman, who sang lots of familiar songs and interacted with the residents and had them singing along and even got residents, staff members and visitors up for a dance.

The party ended with a lovely homemade food buffet and drinks. It was a great day at Wimborne.

Local organisation, the Hayling Legends Classic Car Club very kindly donated their time to spend the afternoon with our residents at Wimborne and to show all of the classic cars. John, one of the residents, particularly enjoyed the classic Triumph Spitfire whilst reminiscing over a cup of coffee in the garden, along with chatting to the club member, who shared the same love of cars with character.

They are an inclusive club welcoming all 4, 3 and 2 wheel motorised vehicles, this includes vintage, veteran, classics, American, customs, replicas, kit cars and also Military. The Hayling Legends Classic Car Club have agreed to come and visit us on a regular basis, as its lovely to see our gentlemen residents really enjoying themselves whilst inspecting the classic cars.
