Activities at Wimborne Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

I have been working in care since 2019 and love the industry. I came from working on cruise ships and running events and activities there which has set me up to be a successful activities coordinator in care. You will never see me without a smile on my face and always bring my fun and bubbly personality to my job. My favourite part of my job is making people cheerful and help make their wishes come true to show people that age is just a number and we can have fun no matter what!

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Wimborne Care Home
Children of Muddy Boots visit
We had a great day with a visit from the children of Muddy boots. They shared their home-made sensory play dough and sang along to nursery rhymes with our residents. The home was full of life with these young children running around and we all made new friends.
Reptile Visit
The residents enjoyed a visit from some scaly friends and learning all about these amazing snakes and all their weird and wonderful behaviours. Many residents were brave enough to hold these amazing creatures.
Trip to the seaside!
We are so lucky to have the beach right on our doorstep and today we enjoyed getting the residents out to enjoy a stroll along the beach looking at the ocean waves and of course we can’t go to the seaside without an ice cream.
Pamper Day
Everyone here at Wimborne enjoyed a day of pure pampering as they enjoyed getting their nails done, face masks and hand massages following a refreshing taste of cucumber water and fresh fruit kebabs.
Happy St. Patrick's Day
Happy St. Patrick’s Day from all of us here at Wimborne! We started our day off with morning Karaoke and had a blast! Followed by a traditional Irish stew for lunch, we then tested our knowledge on all things Irish with our St Paddy’s Day Quiz! Overall a fantastic day!
Our PAT Dog Rufus is Top Dog at Crufts!
Wimborne celebrated our furry friend Rufus the PAT dog as he came FIRST in his category at The Crufts Dog Show! We are so proud of him and this achievement as it was his first time there! In our residents opinion, he is always NUMBER ONE!
