Activities at The Wingfield Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Here at The Wingfield our activities team provide a varied and interesting range of activities for all residents. We are registered with the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA) and we take pride in delivering activities that will enhance residents lives and bring happiness and a sense of purpose. Our cooking activities are very popular, as well as the regular book clubs, coffee mornings, skittle matches and bus trips. We provide one to one support for those who are unable to attend activities and we have tea dances, musicians, quizzes, music and movement, as well as our giant scrabble board! But most importantly we have fun! Relatives are always welcome and there is always much laughter and smiling faces during our activities. We take pride in what we do and we continually strive to enhance residents lives through meaningful activity.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at The Wingfield Care Home

Exercise Followed by a Treat!
Residents really enjoy the weekly Gfitness classes, with a trained instructor specialising in those with limited mobility the classes very much focus on what our residents can do. We all know the importance of keeping active; we also know a little of what you fancy is good for us all, so after our morning of exercise in the afternoon we made Rice Crispy cakes! A real treat with our afternoon cup of tea.

Tropical Discovery Workshop
Today residents took part in a tropical discovery workshop. With a selection of exotic animals not only did everyone get to meet these amazing creatures, we also learnt about their natural habitat.

Local Garden Centre Visit
This week residents enjoyed a trip to Palmer Gardens this is a garden centre run by the Shaw Trust providing training and employment for disabled adults. We had a lovely time looking at all the beautiful flowers in bloom followed by a nice cup of tea in the cafe.

Local School Visits Residents for Community Week
The Wingfield are delighted to be welcoming the foundation year pupils from St John's Catholic Primary School this week for their community week. As our neighbours we are always so pleased when they are able to visit our residents. The children sat colouring with residents in our courtyard and left their colourful pictures for residents to enjoy.

Alpaca Experience
The Wingfield had some very special visitors today, Sandy and Guinness gorgeous alpacas from Alpaca Adventures, they happily walked around both homes, meeting residents in the lounges and in their rooms. Sandy and Guinness were gentle yet had real character and everyone greatly enjoyed meeting them.

Stunning Upcycling Project
There is nothing better than a vision becoming a reality and our wonderful residents have worked hard painting old tyres to create glorious tea cups. We are spending a lot of time outside in sun and everyone is enjoying the array of colour.
