Activities at The Wingfield Care Home

Here at The Wingfield our activities team provide a varied and interesting range of activities for all residents. We are registered with the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA) and we take pride in delivering activities that will enhance residents lives and bring happiness and a sense of purpose. Our cooking activities are very popular, as well as the regular book clubs, coffee mornings, skittle matches and bus trips. We provide one to one support for those who are unable to attend activities and we have tea dances, musicians, quizzes, music and movement, as well as our giant scrabble board! But most importantly we have fun! Relatives are always welcome and there is always much laughter and smiling faces during our activities. We take pride in what we do and we continually strive to enhance residents lives through meaningful activity.

Life at The Wingfield Care Home

Toddler Group Performs at the Lodge

We all love the visits of Maranatha Toddler Music Melody Makers group, lots of singing, clapping and laughter filled the room. The group offered a ball parachute playing which helps in improving strength and agility to our residents. Residents have fun with tea party after the performance.

Magic Table

The Wingfield are proud to have recently had a Magic Table installed, which is an interactive light projector, designed to support residents living with dementia by keeping them engaged through specialised games. To celebrate, we launched the Magic Table with members of staff from Wiltshire College Health and Social Care and Alzheimer’s Society joining in in with residents.

Trip to Dilton Marsh

We all enjoyed a lovely afternoon trip to Dilton Marsh Fairways Café. We were spoiled with delicious cakes and enjoyed the scenic drive back.

Songbirds Choir Performance

Songbirds Choir Performance

A resident’s wife sings for the Songbirds Choir who kindly came to The Wingfield to showcase their musical talent. Their whole performance was uplifting and everyone enjoyed socialising and an afternoon tea afterwards.

Children Bring Joy Through Penpal Scheme

Siblings, Grace and Jacob wanted to do an act of kindness and have started writing to residents at The Wingfield. After the residents wrote back, Grace and Jacob came in to the home to meet them in person and residents were thrilled!

Gardening Project

Gardening Project

A group of National Citizen students kindly came in to the home to create various wheelchair accessible flowerbeds. Their project was followed by an opening ceremony and an afternoon tea. Not only do they look wonderful, but residents will enjoy maintaining them throughout the year!
