Activities at The Wingfield Care Home
Here at The Wingfield our activities team provide a varied and interesting range of activities for all residents. We are registered with the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA) and we take pride in delivering activities that will enhance residents lives and bring happiness and a sense of purpose. Our cooking activities are very popular, as well as the regular book clubs, coffee mornings, skittle matches and bus trips. We provide one to one support for those who are unable to attend activities and we have tea dances, musicians, quizzes, music and movement, as well as our giant scrabble board! But most importantly we have fun! Relatives are always welcome and there is always much laughter and smiling faces during our activities. We take pride in what we do and we continually strive to enhance residents lives through meaningful activity.

Muddy Boots
Wiltshire Equine Assisted Learning were recently awarded a grant from the Big Lottery to run a three year project, offering animal interactions and outdoor activities to people leaving with dementia.
We have been fortunate to obtain a space every Friday, where participants can enjoy working with horses and a variety of other animals including alpacas, guinea pigs and dogs. Participants also have the opportunity to take part in planned activities overseen by a qualified facilitator and volunteers who support the project.
It is well documented that interactions with animals and being outdoors can be very therapeutic.

The Magic Table
We are delighted to announce that we have just had a Magic Table installed, which is an interactive light projector, designed to support residents living with dementia by keeping them engaged through specialised games.
The light projections respond to hand and arm movement, promoting movement, allowing residents to stay stimulated and, most of all, have fun!
You can read more about it on this page.
