Activities at The Wingfield Care Home

Here at The Wingfield our activities team provide a varied and interesting range of activities for all residents. We are registered with the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA) and we take pride in delivering activities that will enhance residents lives and bring happiness and a sense of purpose. Our cooking activities are very popular, as well as the regular book clubs, coffee mornings, skittle matches and bus trips. We provide one to one support for those who are unable to attend activities and we have tea dances, musicians, quizzes, music and movement, as well as our giant scrabble board! But most importantly we have fun! Relatives are always welcome and there is always much laughter and smiling faces during our activities. We take pride in what we do and we continually strive to enhance residents lives through meaningful activity.

Balloons & Magic

Balloons & Magic

Lots of fun was had during the 'Balloons & Magic' performance with Chris. Residents were able to choose what creations they would like made. From flowers and planes to dogs and crowns, we were left in awe of Chris’ talent! We look forward to welcoming him back soon.

Flower Arranging

Flower Arranging

We all enjoy flower arranging at The Wingfield and the bright autumn colours inspired our creations this month. Everyone who took part delicately chose which flowers they would like to arrange and together created three different floral displays.

Afternoon Dancing

Afternoon Dancing

Residents enjoyed dancing the day away with Mike Freke and his dance partners at Memory Lane. From the foxtrot to the quickstep, residents were delighted to not only admire Mike and his dance partner's moves, but also to get involved with learning the moves themselves. The dancing session came to an end with a waltz and afternoon tea. We look forward to welcoming them back in November.

Macmillan Coffee Morning

Macmillan Coffee Morning

This year, for Macmillan Coffee Morning, we got together to celebrate in the pavilion, where the best cake was chosen by Gail and Natalie. The winning cake, an impressive M&M masterpiece, was awarded the winner and was baked by our Head of Housekeeping, Tracey. Well done, Tracey!

For the Love of Music

For the Love of Music

We were delighted to welcome Rob and Sian to Memory Lane this week, where they put on a wonderful performance for residents, who thoroughly enjoyed being able to sing along and reminisce, and we particularly appreciated how interactive the session was.

Bastille Day

Bastille Day

Hats off to our Head Chef, Rob, who made a delicious 3-course, French-themed buffet for Bastille Day. Residents, families and staff all enjoyed lunch in the sunshine, which was beautifully presented.
