Activities at The Wingfield Care Home
Here at The Wingfield our activities team provide a varied and interesting range of activities for all residents. We are registered with the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA) and we take pride in delivering activities that will enhance residents lives and bring happiness and a sense of purpose. Our cooking activities are very popular, as well as the regular book clubs, coffee mornings, skittle matches and bus trips. We provide one to one support for those who are unable to attend activities and we have tea dances, musicians, quizzes, music and movement, as well as our giant scrabble board! But most importantly we have fun! Relatives are always welcome and there is always much laughter and smiling faces during our activities. We take pride in what we do and we continually strive to enhance residents lives through meaningful activity.

We Love to Dance!
Easter Bonnet Fun
On Easter Sunday, residents enjoyed decorating Easter bonnets and painting Easter eggs, whilst listening to traditional Easter hymns and, of course, playing a few group games!
15 Years at The Wingfield
Registered Nurse, Gayla Guncheva, received a prestigious 15 Year Service Award in celebration of working at Barchester Healthcare for 15 years.
Gayla, now Head of Unit, started at Barchester in March 2003, and has worked with residents and their relatives to ensure that their needs have been met over the years. Gayla is also a Dementia Friends Champion who has supported the home and the local community in becoming a Dementia Friend.
Crufts Creations
To celebrate our much-loved furry friends, we began work on some pop art dog creations using bright colours to design pictures, all of which will be added to a collage.
Flower Arranging
Using fresh flowers to create our own arrangements is always a big hit in the home; we have put together some stunning pieces. These are recent arrangement made by the residents at the Lodge.
St Patrick's Day
We donned our leprechaun hats and green attire and celebrated in the Pavilion, listening to Irish Music and taking part in a themed craft session.
