Activities at Wood Grange Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Ruby-Mae Walker
Hello, my name is Ruby-Mae and I am the activities Co-Ordinator here at Wood Grange.
My background is working in dance education and production as well as experience in the mental health care sector. I am extremely passionate about my role here in promoting life enrichment within the home and I feel privileged to work alongside such amazing people, and to be a part of our residents lives, spending quality time with them on a regular basis. I work alongside Louise to plan and organise daily activities to suit our resident’s needs, Louise and I are very enthusiastic about our roles and the resident’s well-being is always at the forefront of our minds.
I love to dance, keep fit by going to the gym and spending time with family.

Barry and Harley!
Barry here is a massive motorbike fan! They have been a huge part of his life so when a relative came by with this sparkling Harley Davidson, Barry got to have a rev up! He proudly has this photograph framed and on his wall.

We Raised £650 for Dementia Support South Lincs!
On Saturday 27th August we held our Summer Fete, our focus for the fete was to bring relatives and residents together and also invite the community.
The sun was shining and it was a very special day being our first big event since before the Covid Pandemic, we held a raffle, tombola and bric-a-brac stall. Local businesses where extremely generous, we received prize donations from Dawson of Stamford, KFE, CoOp Morton, Hoopers, The End, Bourne beautiful, Gerbera Beauty, Moore & Scrupps, Bourne Book Shop, Paint a Pot, Erinocco Creations and many more from relatives & friends.
We also invited a local artist Alison Atkins to show her work, Colin Gilbert to sell local honey, Paint a Pot came in to sell pottery and let kids make their own, Julie Magill selling her beautiful cards and jewellery and Erinocco Creations selling her lovely bespoke crochet soft toys.
The children had great fun giving our home made piñata a bash and we had lots of yummy cakes entered into the Cake Competition which we then sold to help raise further funds.
We wanted to raise as much money as possible for a local charity, Dementia Support South Lincs. We did this, with huge success. We raised £650! We will be presenting the funds raised to Kate Marshall on Monday 5th September at 11.30am.
