Activities at Wood Grange Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Ruby-Mae Walker

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Ruby-Mae and I am the activities Co-Ordinator here at Wood Grange.

My background is working in dance education and production as well as experience in the mental health care sector. I am extremely passionate about my role here in promoting life enrichment within the home and I feel privileged to work alongside such amazing people, and to be a part of our residents lives, spending quality time with them on a regular basis. I work alongside Louise to plan and organise daily activities to suit our resident’s needs, Louise and I are very enthusiastic about our roles and the resident’s well-being is always at the forefront of our minds.

I love to dance, keep fit by going to the gym and spending time with family.

Macmillan Coffee Morning

Macmillan Coffee Morning

Wood Grange hosted their very own Macmillan Coffee Morning. Cakes were made and donated by staff, families and friends of residents. The cakes were judged by how well-decorated and how tasty they were. We are happy to say that we have raised over £200 for Macmillan.

Zoolab Visits Again!

Zoolab Visits Again!

Once again, we invited Chris from Zoolab into our home along with a few of his pets. As you can see, residents really enjoyed this experience and showed no signs of being scared, which can't be said for all of the staff involved. This is becoming one of our most popular activities at Wood Grange.

The eldest resident, Ivy (pictured), is 104 years young, and still enjoys the activities in our Home.
