Activities at Wood Grange Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Ruby-Mae Walker
Hello, my name is Ruby-Mae and I am the activities Co-Ordinator here at Wood Grange.
My background is working in dance education and production as well as experience in the mental health care sector. I am extremely passionate about my role here in promoting life enrichment within the home and I feel privileged to work alongside such amazing people, and to be a part of our residents lives, spending quality time with them on a regular basis. I work alongside Louise to plan and organise daily activities to suit our resident’s needs, Louise and I are very enthusiastic about our roles and the resident’s well-being is always at the forefront of our minds.
I love to dance, keep fit by going to the gym and spending time with family.

Life at Wood Grange Care Home
Charity Cheque Presentation
Our General Manager presented The Air Ambulance with the money raised by charity lunches held in the home – and they were very grateful.
Dog Show
A lot of fun was had at our recent dog show. We had lots of guests who brought in their furry friends to perform in the contest.
Summer Fête
Our Summer Fête was very successful, and we managed to raise over £900. As you can see by the photos, everyone had a fun day, and people were making the most of the lovely weather.
What have we been up to?
We've been keeping ourselves very busy recently!
Residents have been enjoying playing bingo, flower arranging, baking cakes and keeping cool in the garden. Afternoon tea is as popular as ever, and is served up on the 2nd Wednesday of every month. We recently celebrated cupcake day to raise money the Alzheimer's Society. All this and much more!
Busy Bees
Busy Bees is a local nursery that visits our home every other week. They come for games, singing, arts and crafts. The children are generally aged from 2-4 years old and are forming very good relationships with residents. In this picture, we had just done a game's morning for them and, as you can see, the residents are besotted.
Resident of the Day
Our resident of the day had a lovely afternoon as he shared his chosen fish and chip lunch with his friend and neighbour in the home.
