Activities at Wood Grange Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Ruby-Mae Walker
Hello, my name is Ruby-Mae and I am the activities Co-Ordinator here at Wood Grange.
My background is working in dance education and production as well as experience in the mental health care sector. I am extremely passionate about my role here in promoting life enrichment within the home and I feel privileged to work alongside such amazing people, and to be a part of our residents lives, spending quality time with them on a regular basis. I work alongside Louise to plan and organise daily activities to suit our resident’s needs, Louise and I are very enthusiastic about our roles and the resident’s well-being is always at the forefront of our minds.
I love to dance, keep fit by going to the gym and spending time with family.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Wood Grange Care Home
Pick and Mix Station
Some of our residents have a very sweet tooth and to satisfy their needs we regularly take a mobile pick and mix station around the home!
Hat Decorating
A lot of fun was had by the residents of Wood Grange as they decorated their own hats for the summer with Francesca from Bloom UK.
Bourne Motor Show
We recently took some of the residents out for the afternoon to the Bourne Motor Show. A fantastic day was had by all as we looked at all the vintage cars which was topped off by a delicious ice cream!
Marie Curie coffee morning and cake competition
A number of our respite residents returned for our Marie Curie coffee morning recently. We also had a cake competition to raise money for Marie Curie, which was judged by Graham Lloyd, a son of a resident here at Wood Grange. The winner is pictured with a member of staff holding their prize. Thanks to all who came and donated!
Employee of the Month - April
Congratulations to Night Care Assistant, Tina Chamberlain, who was named as our Employee of the Month for April. She is an outstanding Carer and always puts the residents first. She works very hard, is a real team player and always supports her colleagues.
Fundraising Day
We had a blast raising money on Fundraising Day. Carer, Daniel, Regional Director, Violet Kotu, and the Mayor of Bourne, David Mapp, all participated in the fun and games.
