Activities at Woodhorn Park Care Home

Activities make up the most important part of all our days at Woodhorn park, so we ensure a variety of social events are available that reflect the interests of all the people we support. In our Memory Lane community, we have group conversations and regularly reminiscence about past experiences, which is something that people living with dementia really enjoy. Many residents love gardening, baking, outings, pet care and gentle exercise, which we provide, along with many other wholesome activities, as it is essential that life at Woodhorn Park is fun and active.

The Woodhorn Oscars

The Woodhorn Oscars

Discreetly living within the community, Woodhorn Park is the home of the 'superstars', therefore, in recognition of their achievements, an Oscars celebration was held for both the team and residents.

Everyone had a wonderful time celebrating!

Valentine's Meal

Valentine's Meal

A couple of residents treated their wives to a three course Valentine’s meal at Woodhorn Park. There were cards, roses and even some cheeky kisses.

Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year

Residents thoroughly enjoyed taste testing Chinese food and managed to retrieve the sweets from the Pinata after several well-aimed swipes.

Reading Week

Reading Week

Residents visited Josephine Butler Campus School to share stories about their younger days as part of Reading Week. The children were overwhelmed by their stories and realised how easy they have it these days.

Bird Watching

Bird Watching

As part of the RSPB Bird Watching Week, Ken, who is a keen birdwatcher, participated in the survey. He settled down with a cup of tea, his binoculars and the documentation and plotted all species of birds who visited our garden. Well done, Ken!
