Activities at Worplesdon View
The activities team at Worplesdon View organise and run activities and events for large groups, small groups and individual residents. We include relatives, volunteers and the remaining staff whenever possible and encourage choice and participation from everyone we support. Our programme is planned in advance and is is designed provide tailored, meaningful activities for residents to participate in that will stimulate all senses, whist encouraging mental and physical well-being. We have an activity plan for all residents, and of course, this changes with the needs of each person to keep it up-to-date and useful. Worplesdon View is a fun and dynamic place to live and work, and the secret to this is that everyone is encouraged to see activities as part of their role in the home so that residents are happy and always have something to do.

Life at Worplesdon View Care Home
Employee of the Month - July
Congratulations to Lazlo Bede for being named our Employee of the Month for July here at Worplesdon View.
Lazlo is a Maintenance Assistant, but understands the 'whole home' approach when it comes to team work. Due to holidays and other unforeseen events, he stepped in and worked solidly as a Maintenance Assistant, Kitchen Assistant and Housekeeping Assistant.
Lazlo is a trained classical singer; he and his wife, Christine, regularly entertain residents at Worplesdon and other Barchester homes in the region. He has also performed in the local theatre. He is always upbeat, but extremely hard working and deserves to be recognised at the Employee of the Month.
102nd Birthday Celebrations
Worplesdon celebrated the birthday of resident, Donald, on 23rd July. He was joined by his family, residents and team members. He is an amazing and lovely man who is loved by all. We are privileged to be part of his life.
Michelle Turner: Charted Physiotherapist
We are putting the spotlight on a Worplesdon View team member each month by writing a short feature about one of them. For June, the spotlight will be focused on none other than our Physiotherapist, Michelle Turner.

Care Home Open Day
We hosted a Summer Fete on Care Home Open Day. The weather was beautiful and there were lots of activities going on, in addition to a sumptuous afternoon tea with prosecco.
Crossword Fun!
We're always keen to host activities that help to stimulate the mind! Our early morning crossword puzzle in the bistro is a big hit with residents. This is usually followed by a general knowledge quiz.
Such activities are precursor to more important reminiscence sessions, where residents can talk about days gone and enjoy a coffee and a chat afterwards.
Our Greeting Card Table
Worplesdon View now has a greeting card table. We will soon be opening a shop selling confectionary, toiletries and those little things that we forget to buy.
