Activities at Ashchurch View Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Life at Ashchurch View Care Home

,

We are now open!

It has been a struggle for many recently, particularly those with dementia. Ashchurch View has done their utmost to maintain contact through video calls and visits through the window, but it has still been a tough time for many.

By allowing visits to the home we can now safely facilitate visits between residents and families, which will have enormous benefits for everybody’s health, happiness and well being.

All visits are booked in advance and thorough cleaning of the area is undertaken after every visit to ensure the safety of residents, staff and visitors.

Ascot Ladies Day

Here at Ashchurch View, we celebrated the Royal Ascot races as part of our traditional celebration. This year, Ladies Day was held on the 18th June, and we made fabulous hats with decorations. We also enjoyed tea & cakes in the afternoon while we watched the races and put names to the horses. Our chef, who was a jockey in his early years, dressed up as a blow up horse and entertained everyone else.

VE Day Celebrations

We have been busy at Ashchurch View celebrating the 75th anniversary of VE Day. We decorated the home inside and out, which was acknowledged by Ashchurch Army Camp, we enjoyed singing dancing and a wonderful high tea. Residents made flags, bunting and reminiscing boards.

Keeping in Touch

Residents have been keeping in touch with their loved ones here at Ashchurch with iPads using Skype and Facetime.

Keep Smiling

This rainbow creation is from the pupils of Tewkesbury School. They want everyone to keep smiling through this difficult period!

Easter Bonnet Parade

We hosted an Easter parade recently. It was fun, even though we had to adhere to the government's social distancing guidelines.
