Activities at Badgeworth Court Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators provide a stimulating social programme to suit residents' individual tastes and desires, and offer group or one-to-one activities based on individual preferences. We are a dedicated team that always ensures residents have enough to do to keep them stimulated and entertained. There are regular trips out on the minibus to nearby places of interest, and exercise classes to suit people of all capabilities, in addition to much, much more.

Sharing Love

We have had a lovely day sharing the love at Badgeworth Court and in our community. Our tables were beautifully set up for the special meal cooked by our chef.

Residents and team members received special treats, either a goody bag with lovely chocolates or knitted hearts. Also, our team members shared the love with a vintage tea afternoon to celebrate Valentine’s Day in their rooms and lounges, which included a lovely heart-shaped biscuit, a cup of tea and love songs in the background.

It was a full afternoon with treats for everyone sharing love and kindness.

Bonfire Night

Badgeworth Court Bonfire Night celebrations have been a great success!

Residents have enjoyed a day of sharing memories of previous bonfire nights. We warmed ourselves up with a delicious BBQ provided by our Head Chef, alongside hot chocolate and mulled wine.

We hope the the local community enjoyed the fireworks display as much as we did.

Thank you to everyone who supported this event!

Christmas Hearts for Schools

This Christmas, we would like to help share some joy following what has been a difficult year, for us all.

The Badgeworth activities team, inspired by Picture News and Katrina Cole, organised a special surprise for the local schools.

Residents and team members at Badgeworth started this project by decorating wooden hearts with special messages or drawings.

It was lovely to see the smiles on our residents' faces and the Christmas spirit it brought to Badgeworth Court.

Wear It Pink Day

The residents and team members enjoyed the pink afternoon tea in our reception. It was a lovely afternoon with beautiful pink decorations, cupcakes, lemonade strawberries, sing along and sharing memories with our residents. It was great to see the residents enjoying the pink afternoon for such a great cause.

Also, on the previous day they decorated the cupcakes and prepare sweet bags for a sale on the pink afternoon. However we would like to do a bit more and we will continue to support this cause.

So, on Friday 23rd October we will invite the residents and team members to “Wear it Pink”.

Hospitality Champion

Debbie Murcott was crowned as the national winner in the Hospitality Champion category at the 2020 Barchester Care Awards, held virtually on 8th October.

The awards celebrate staff and volunteers who go the extra mile for the benefit of residents and patients living in Barchester care homes and independent hospitals.

More than 2,800 nominations were received from homes, residents, staff and relatives across the UK this year, which is nearly 1000 more than was received last year. Nominations were sent in by Barchester staff, but many more were also from residents and their families who have praised the fantastic care provided to their loved ones.

All entries have been of a very high standard, and Debbie is thrilled to have been declared as the national winner!

Adapted Tai-Chi

Our adapted Tai-Chi is another form of exercise that been modified to allow our residents who participate to perform all the required exercises from a seated position without risking their safety. It also helps with strength, balance and flexibility.

The residents enjoyed the adapted Tai-Chi in the garden and enjoyed the last summer days of the English weather.

The residents are looking forward to the next session.
