Activities at Braeburn Lodge Care Home

Our dedicated activities team are constantly dreaming up new and wonderful ways to support and stimulate the residents we look after. From trips to crafts, parties to skittles, musical performances and quizzes, we include something for everyone and pride ourselves on including everyone into the fun. We have a brilliant team of volunteers who help us to deliver more trips, support us at events and pop in for a cup of tea and chat. We have pet therapy at least once per week (sometimes twice!) and we take advantage of every school break by holding large scale events that we can invite families with children to. We have been developing ties with our neighbours since we first opened and thanks to this, we have successfully brought together our residents with local churches, choirs, Brownies groups, and schools. Whatever your interests are, here at Braeburn, there's something for everyone.

Tablet Tutorial

Residents did an amazing job turning their hands to learning a 'new skill'. Many of our residents haven't had much interaction with tablets and tech, but we were so impressed with their determination to use the community tablet. They were supported to play some games and navigate around the tablet. Fab job, ladies!

Gardening Club

We had a great morning during our gardening club. The residents all said how lovely it was to get their hands dirty potting their plants and giving them a good watering. We can't wait to watch them bloom.

Flowers of Youth

We brought the outside in and had a beautiful morning of flower arranging! Amongst the roses and carnations were fresh fragrant snippings from our own gardens. The aroma of rosemary and lavender filled the room as our residents created stunning table centre places.

Cream Tea Day

We enjoyed a beautiful sunny morning in the Honey Suckle Lounge, where we indulged in a selection of warm scones, freshly brewed tea and coffee and the fresh scent of the daffodils picked from our gardens that morning.

It was one of our residents 80th birthday too and the cream tea was the perfect way to celebrate this special occasion!

Beside the Seaside

The good old British weather didn't stop us from having a wonderful seaside-themed day! Our residents enjoyed a morning of sea shanties, beach ball games and taking a walk down memory lane as they delved their hands into the sand pit to create sand castles and other creations!

Our memory lane community had a wonderful morning blowing bubbles and listening to songs being played on the piano. Everyone enjoyed traditional fish and chips, delivered fresh from 'The Boundary' fish & chip shop.

Our residential community indulged in the afternoon drinks trolley and a selection of fudge and humbug sweets, then relaxed to live entertainment from one of our talented staff members.

It was a wonderful day; the smiles were all the sunshine we needed!

Garden Club

Our residents had a fabulous morning making their own bird feeders. Garden club was a great success!
