Activities at Brookfield Care Home
Our Activities coordinator dedicates her time on getting feedback from our residents of what they like to do. We have introduced paper mornings which involves group discussions and an active mind, and we also have a variety of entertainers that come in on a weekly basis. We hold a residents quiz once a week as it is one of our more popular activities, we now call it the Big Quiz due to its popularity.
It is important that we involve the community and family in many of our activities. We have the local rugby club heritage centre coming in once a week to do Bocci (indoor bowls) and seated exercise. We also hold cheese and wine evenings for family and residents which are very popular. Here at Brookfield we pride ourselves on the fabulous bond our activity coordinator has with all our residents as they are as happy to see her each morning as she is to see her friends.

Life at Brookfield Care Home
A Personal Best!
Our residents enjoy a variety of life enrichment activities for their minds, body and soul on a daily basis.
This week we organised a great challenge for our fitness and also created a personal best for many who took part!
Residents took part in a sponsored walk around the large grassy gardens walking a great distance of x2 laps. Everyone was awarded a certificate and offered huge support and applause.
Trixie the Rescue Dog
These are happy summer days at Brookfield House and for animal lover Margaret Villiers who has acquired a new best friend.
"Trixie" the dog was spotted on the Animal Pet Rescue Services stall & Margaret had to rescue her. Trixie is definitely here to stay and is getting a lot of welcomed attention from everyone!
Fundraising for Animal Pet Services
We have all had great fun raising £33.00 for Animal Pet Services.
Trainer, Nigel and Rescue Chocolate Lab, Sam brought much joy to us all throughout the fundraising afternoon. We held a raffle and bought some fabulous pieces from the stall. Happy raffle winners included Eliza, Margaret and June!
A big thank you to Sue for hosting the super refreshments and to everyone who helped make a great success of a very enjoyable day!

Opera Performance
Our homes had a fabulous time with the talented soprano Astrid Joos from Street Theatre. Astrid spoke about a selection of famous operas and our residents were treated to performances of wonderful arias from operas well-known to all, such as ‘Giuditta’, ‘Don Giovanni’ and ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’.
It was a lovely experience, truly enjoyed by all.
Resident Ambassador appointed
Brookfield Care Home in Lymm has appointed one of its residents to the role of Resident Ambassador. June Carr always shares her zest and positive outlook on life with others, her sunny personality made her the perfect choice for the ambassador’s role.
Activities Coordinator, Suzanne McNamee, chaired a consultation with residents and staff to seek a new resident ambassador. The role was offered to June, who kindly accepted. June moved to Brookfield House in Spring 2021. She is an energetic, well respected member of the home’s community, loved by staff and residents alike. All the residents will benefit greatly from having a resident ambassador at the home who can support and help share the views of other residents.
Double Birthday Celebrations
Celebrating Hazel's 95th Birthday was great fun and definitely a game of doubles all day. Activities Coordinator, Suzanne shares the same date for her very own Birthday! Everyone joined in the double fun wishing both ladies many happy returns.
