Activities at Cepen Lodge Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Anita Williams
Hello. my name is Anita, I have worked at Cepen Lodge for 5 years, I started as a Senior Care Assistant and now I am the Activities Coordinator which I really enjoy, I love the interaction with our residents and making their days enjoyable. I am always thinking of new activities and events, and ways to engage with our local community for our residents benefit. Cepen Lodge is a great team that I am proud to be a part of.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Cepen Lodge Care Home

Whitehall Garden Centre
We had a brilliant trip out on our mini bus recently with our residents and family members and visited the beautiful Whitehall Garden Centre.
We admired the floral displays and smelled the beautiful roses while reminiscing about plants we remember growing in our gardens.
After our walk round we all enjoyed the picnic our talented chef had made for us with a nice cup of tea.
Special thanks to our volunteer Michelle Hanson for driving the mini bus!

Cepen Lodge Sports Day!
GET BARCHESTER MOVING! What a fantastic afternoon we have had with students from Hardenhuish School with our very own Sports Day! This week is all about moving as we fundraise for The Barchester Charity Foundation, and today we went head to head to compete against the students in egg & spoon, space hopper, relay, three legged and hula hoop races as well as a BBQ and ice creams all round! We all had so much fun and the residents loved interacting with the students, who were brilliant at chatting and listening to stories from the past. Thankyou to all those who have donated and sponsored us.

Movement and Mobility
The start Barchesters Charitable Foundation Week 'Get Barchester Moving'. To kick off our week we started with a Movement & Mobility Class in the garden this morning with Chloe. The weather looks set to be on our side this week for lots of activity in the garden and Move Minutes to be tracked. We all had a great morning breaking a sweat!

Trip to Chew Valley Animal Park
Yesterday we had a trip out to Chew Valley Animal Park, we had a thoroughly enjoyable time seeing all the animals and having a lovely picnic. Special thanks to our volunteer Kevin for volunteering to drive the mini bus.

Trip to The Rowdy Cow
This afternoon we took more of our lovely residents out in our minibus. This time we visited The Rowdy Cow in Rowde where we sampled their homemade ice creams which we all agreed were delicious. While some of our residents stayed to have a chat the rest of us visited the animals. Everyone had a great time, staff included!

Dementia café with Wiltshire Police
We had a lovely visit from PCSO Cunningham and PCSO Staples today to launch our first Dementia Cafe session and to advise about the Herbert Protocol and dementia wristbands! Whilst there they got to meet one of our residents, who served as a PC for Wiltshire Police from 1965 until 1990, he was PC 576 Jennings and policed in Chippenham from 1966-1968. This turned into a fabulous reminiscence session, and Dave had a great morning! We will release further information on our next dementia cafe shortly, keep your eyes peeled! Chippenham Police will be joining us again too to discuss this important subject and share advice and support.
