Activities at Chestnut Gardens Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Life at Chestnut Gardens Care Home

,

They call it puppy love

Everyone at Chestnut Gardens were full of cuddles and fuss when Maisy came to visit. She was a super star and so well behaved. We think the treats may have had something to do with it. We look forward to welcoming her back again.

Cheese and Wine Evening

Chestnut Gardens hosted our first Cheese and wine evening. We had a delicious selection of Cheeses and wines which went down a treat with all of our guests. We had a variety of guests attending from local businesses to our wonderful neighbours. We also welcomed Scott Jenner who entertained us all with his fantastic singing. We all had a lovely evening and we are already looking forward to our next event here at Chestnut Gardens.

Valentines Celebration

Chestnut Gardens celebrated Valentines Day with our very first resident John, and his wife Paul. Our chef prepared a delicious home made dinner with champagne and candlelight all served in our private dining room.

John was delighted to present Sue with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, a box of chocolates and a hand written card.

National Activity Providers Week

National Activity Providers Week

Chestnut Gardens recently celebrated National Activity Providers Week by presenting our Activity Coordinator, Claire Jones and our Divisional Activities Lead, Lucy Perkins with a beautiful bunch of flowers and a home made, luxury afternoon tea. Claire and Lucy both work hard as part of Barchester's Life Enrichment team to create meaningful and person centred activities and events for our residents.

Chestnut Gardens VIP opening Day

Chestnut Gardens was officially opened in style by Councillor Jason Perry, Executive Mayor Of Croydon. Barchester's CEO, Dr Peter Calveley, and General Manager Krystyna Bosko hosted the event and invited guests to view our beautiful new care home which is now welcoming its first residents.

National Buy a Book Day!

Today is "National buy a book day" (National Buy a Book Day was created in 2012 to educate people to the importance of books to our culture and civilisation as a whole). To that end, Chestnut Gardens and the Book Club members have decided to try "Lord of the Rings!" Join us every month on the second Tuesday at 11.00am.
