Activities at Chestnut Gardens Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Rikardas Cirunas

Activities Co Ordinator

Hello, my name is Rikardus and I am the Activities Co-ordinator at Chestnut Gardens Care Home.

I have worked for Barchester for five years and was so excited to be part of such a excellent team at this beautiful home.

Every day I look forward to supporting our residents in living a full and enriched life and especially enjoy the outdoor activities that we arrange to the local attractions, even if the weather can be unpredictable at times.

We also hold loads of varied internal activities so everyone is catered for and the musicians and therapy animals are a very big hit.

Life at Chestnut Gardens Care Home

Honeywood Museum

A lovely trip down to the Honeywood museum last week, an afternoon filled with exploring the wonderful Edwardian exhibits and beautiful paintings. We then finished the afternoon in the cafe by the ponds in the sunshine!

Armed Forces Day

It's always such a delight to welcome "The Swingtime Sweethearts" and Armed Forces Day was no exception! Thank you ladies. A packed house celebrated our war time heroes in style!

Top Score for Food Safety Standards!

We are delighted to inform you all that we were rated 5 out of 5 at today's unannounced food safety standards inspection! Well done to our Head Chef, Roshan; Second chef, Arthur; our hostess, Zeemena and the whole team!

Mens Health!

This week was both Men's Health Week with National Beer Day on Thursday! Our dear resident, Guss agreed that a cool bottle of beer made him feel on top of the world! Cheers! What's your favourite tipple?

Employee of the Month June

Residents and staff at Chestnuts Gardens care home in Purley applauded as William Guantero was named ‘Employee of the Month’ for going above and beyond in his role and providing excellent care to our residents.

William was congratulated by the home’s General Manager Gayane Selimyan for the achievement and was presented with a £25 voucher and a bottle of wine as a special thank you.
