Activities at Cheverton Lodge Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians, as well as art therapy, flower arranging, Exercise to music and quizzes. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Cara Nutt

Activities Coordinator Lead

I joined Cheverton Lodge in 2024 as an Activity Coordinator. I completed a Health and social care level 2 and performing arts at college. I have worked as an activity coordinator in a care home setting for over 5 years. I love my role, the passion and drive it gives me to ensure everyone receives a fun and fulfilled lifestyle, which is person centred to them.

I love being creative, I sing in my spare time alongside playing the electric guitar, piano and also writing my own music. I look forward to my journey here at Cheverton lodge, and bringing lots of fun!

Trip out to Golder's Green Hill Park !

Residents from Cheverton lodge had a fabulous trip out and visited the lovely little zoo at Golder's Green Hill Park. We saw the beautiful deer and a collection of rare and exotic birds.

We meet the laughing kookaburras, the ring-tailed lemurs and also ring-tailed coatisand, they were a favorite of the residents.

Later we all enjoyed a well deserved stop off at the coffee shop for hot drinks and delicious cake.

Trip out to the Royal Airforce museum !

Residents took off for an interesting tour around the Royal Airforce museum in Colindale. The tour took us through a 100 years of RAF history. Seeing the aircraft brought back memories for our residents. We were very interested to see what the RAF looks like today and what future technologies may bring. Thank you The Royal Airforce museum, we had a really enjoyable day.

Virtual cookery demo with Vegetarian for Life !

Virtual cookery demo with Vegetarian for Life !

To celebrate Halloween and all things autumnal, staff and residents at Cheverton Lodge were treated to an interactive virtual cookery demo courtesy of chef, Alex Connell, from Vegetarian for Life.

Chef Alex whipped up some tasty, healthy Halloween-inspired vegetarian dishes in a live, interactive cookery demo and much to residents’ delight, Laeeq Arif head chef at Cheverton Lodge prepared the same recipes so that residents could try all the dishes.

Residents had the opportunity to sample a root vegetable and pumpkin tagine, deliciously warming roasted pumpkin mac & cheese, yummy apricot flapjacks and last but not least, chocolate pots with Halloween-themed piped biscuits.

We also love to see her beautiful dresses, resident’s reminisce about they dresses they worn when they were young.

Thank you Nicola, we look forward to seeing you again soon.
