Activities at Cheverton Lodge Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians, as well as art therapy, flower arranging, Exercise to music and quizzes. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Cara Nutt

Activities Coordinator Lead

I joined Cheverton Lodge in 2024 as an Activity Coordinator. I completed a Health and social care level 2 and performing arts at college. I have worked as an activity coordinator in a care home setting for over 5 years. I love my role, the passion and drive it gives me to ensure everyone receives a fun and fulfilled lifestyle, which is person centred to them.

I love being creative, I sing in my spare time alongside playing the electric guitar, piano and also writing my own music. I look forward to my journey here at Cheverton lodge, and bringing lots of fun!

Life at Cheverton Lodge Care Home

Virtual cookery demo with Vegetarian for Life !

Virtual cookery demo with Vegetarian for Life !

To celebrate Halloween and all things autumnal, staff and residents at Cheverton Lodge were treated to an interactive virtual cookery demo courtesy of chef, Alex Connell, from Vegetarian for Life.

Chef Alex whipped up some tasty, healthy Halloween-inspired vegetarian dishes in a live, interactive cookery demo and much to residents’ delight, Laeeq Arif head chef at Cheverton Lodge prepared the same recipes so that residents could try all the dishes.

Residents had the opportunity to sample a root vegetable and pumpkin tagine, deliciously warming roasted pumpkin mac & cheese, yummy apricot flapjacks and last but not least, chocolate pots with Halloween-themed piped biscuits.

That's show business !

Residents enjoyed a great afternoon of show tunes with Nicola from Kissing it better. We always enjoy her fabulous performances and love to sing along to all our favourites from the theatre. We also love to see her beautiful dresses, resident’s reminisce about they dresses they worn when they were young.

Thank you Nicola, we look forward to seeing you again soon.

BBC Radio Days !

Carousel Theatre brought Cheverton Lodge their Radio Days Show to celebrate the heyday of the wireless.

Residents laughed along with Educating Archie, marvelled at the daring detective Dick Barton and had a cup of tea with Mrs Dales Diary with songs galore, jokes and sketches!

A fun and fabulous afternoon !

A trip to Kenwood House !

Residents and their loved ones from Cheverton Lodge really enjoyed our visit to Kenwood House in Hampstead Heath. Its was an amazing afternoon and we really enjoyed the beautiful countryside smack in the middle of London. The gardens are stunning.

It's a beautiful treasure and a wonderfully kept mansion. We definitely recommend a visit for all history and art enthusiasts!

Getting creative !

Residents have been busy upcycling one of the plain tables with a decoupage technique. Helen was in charge of choosing the theme and list of singers and Ida of the overall design.

The new table not only looks great but we are also using it as an interactive tool for reminiscing musical related activities! Come and have a look at the final result!

Connaught Opera at Cheverton Lodge !
