Activities at Cheverton Lodge Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians, as well as art therapy, flower arranging, Exercise to music and quizzes. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.
Cara Nutt
I joined Cheverton Lodge in 2024 as an Activity Coordinator. I completed a Health and social care level 2 and performing arts at college. I have worked as an activity coordinator in a care home setting for over 5 years. I love my role, the passion and drive it gives me to ensure everyone receives a fun and fulfilled lifestyle, which is person centred to them.
I love being creative, I sing in my spare time alongside playing the electric guitar, piano and also writing my own music. I look forward to my journey here at Cheverton lodge, and bringing lots of fun!

Life at Cheverton Lodge Care Home
Spending time in the garden
Residents at Cheverton Lodge took advantage of the beautiful spring weather and spent time in our beautiful garden. Playing musical bingo, having a chat, listening to music and singing along. All with a refreshing glass of rose wine. Cheers!

Kissing it Better
Kissing it better is a healthcare charity and training provider, working to end the isolation of old age by bringing the generations together.
They started in 2009 as a way of sharing hundreds of simple but powerful ideas that make a world of difference to older, vulnerable people in hospitals, care homes and the community.
Nicola Gossip, Musical Director, Millie Glover, Young People’s Innovation Lead
and volunteers visited Cheverton Lodge and residents and staff enjoyed a Musical performance and experienced the benefits of intergenerational interaction.

A Fond farewell to our Manager Earl
Residents and staff at Cheverton Lodge bid a fond farewell to Home Manager Earl Elliott as he left to begin his retirement.
“I will miss all of my staff team, they are like family to me, and many have worked here as long as I have,” said Earl. “Of course, I’ll miss the residents too, it’s been a real privilege to meet and care for so many wonderful people over the years”.
A keen gardener, cricket and fishing lover, Earl will have plenty of time to enjoy them during his retirement.
Staff at Cheverton Lodge held a farewell party, attended by residents and families.
We will all miss Earl at Cheverton. We would like to thank him for his many years of dedicated service. He has been an exceptional manager and a real inspiration to his staff team”.
Thank you, dear Earl!
