Activities at Cheverton Lodge Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Our Activities Coordinators are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians, as well as art therapy, flower arranging, Exercise to music and quizzes. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Cara Nutt

Activities Coordinator Lead

I joined Cheverton Lodge in 2024 as an Activity Coordinator. I completed a Health and social care level 2 and performing arts at college. I have worked as an activity coordinator in a care home setting for over 5 years. I love my role, the passion and drive it gives me to ensure everyone receives a fun and fulfilled lifestyle, which is person centred to them.

I love being creative, I sing in my spare time alongside playing the electric guitar, piano and also writing my own music. I look forward to my journey here at Cheverton lodge, and bringing lots of fun!

Cards of kindness

What a lovely surprise for the residents and team at Cheverton Lodge. Children and their teacher Mathew from Whitehall Park School hand delivered some beautiful hand made cards which had been crafted and written by the year 5 students.

Residents were delighted to receive them and had a lovely chat with the children.

Thank you so very much, we loved them and hope you come and see us again soon.

Remembrance Sunday at Cheverton Lodge

On Sunday 12th November, the National Service of Remembrance was held at the Cenotaph on Whitehall. The service commemorates the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women involved in the two world wars and later conflicts.

Residents at Cheverton Lodge watched the service together with loved ones. We talked about what Remembrance Sunday meant to us and decorated the home in poppies as a sign of respect. Our chef Kamila made lovely poppy cup cakes for us to enjoy.
