Activities at Cheverton Lodge Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians, as well as art therapy, flower arranging, Exercise to music and quizzes. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Cara Nutt

Activities Coordinator Lead

I joined Cheverton Lodge in 2024 as an Activity Coordinator. I completed a Health and social care level 2 and performing arts at college. I have worked as an activity coordinator in a care home setting for over 5 years. I love my role, the passion and drive it gives me to ensure everyone receives a fun and fulfilled lifestyle, which is person centred to them.

I love being creative, I sing in my spare time alongside playing the electric guitar, piano and also writing my own music. I look forward to my journey here at Cheverton lodge, and bringing lots of fun!

Life at Cheverton Lodge Care Home

Pamper Afternoon

We regularly host pamper days for our residents at Cheverton Lodge. It is always a popular afternoon activity.

This time the ladies enjoyed foot spas, facials and hair styling whilst listening to some classical music and one of their favourite opera singers, Benjamin Gigli!

Flower Power

It was lovely to receive these flowers from students with loving messages encouraging residents to stay cheerful and happy!

Thank you City of London Academy!

Ice Cream Bonanza

Residents got the best of a sunny afternoon in the garden, singing along to well-known old favourites and enjoying an ice cream bonanza full of flavour and colour.

Cream Tea Day

Finally putting an end to the controversial debate of cream before jam for the Cornish tradition or jam before cream as part of the Devonshire tradition, Cheverton Lodge enjoyed homemade scones both ways with a variety of herbal and classic teas.

Residents also enjoyed a selection of sweet and savoury treats, including cucumber, salmon and mayo egg sandwiches and a delicious sherry wine while playing a tea quiz!

Garden Activities

The weather has been beautiful over the last couple of weeks, so residents were  busy doing some DIY in the garden, as well as watering plants and helping to look after our very own veggies and fruits crops!

A Royal Celebration

To celebrate Her Majesty's birthday weekend at Cheverton Lodge, residents enjoyed watching the Trooping of the Colour in the morning and then got ready for the afternoon tea party, giving the finishing touches for this special day! We enjoyed doing arts and crafts during the week to decorate the delicious cupcakes the chef baked for us. Party time!
