Activities at Cheverton Lodge Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians, as well as art therapy, flower arranging, Exercise to music and quizzes. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.
Cara Nutt
I joined Cheverton Lodge in 2024 as an Activity Coordinator. I completed a Health and social care level 2 and performing arts at college. I have worked as an activity coordinator in a care home setting for over 5 years. I love my role, the passion and drive it gives me to ensure everyone receives a fun and fulfilled lifestyle, which is person centred to them.
I love being creative, I sing in my spare time alongside playing the electric guitar, piano and also writing my own music. I look forward to my journey here at Cheverton lodge, and bringing lots of fun!

Life at Cheverton Lodge Care Home
Christmas Day
Cheverton Lodge residents, staff, friends and families celebrated Christmas! Thanks to our Chef, Abin, for the amazing freshly home-made Christmas lunch.
Christmas Party
On Friday 23rd December, residents of Cheverton Lodge and their relatives and friends enjoyed their annual Christmas party. A 'Let it Snow' singing show was performed in the morning by Babette, from Cats & Pyjamas, to much amusement, followed by the fabulous singing voice of Linda Styan, who performed a range of Christmas hits in the afternoon. This fabulous celebration was rounded off at the end of the day by a fantastic buffet provided by our hardworking Head Chef and team. Early nights for all after a fun packed day!
Exercise and Entertainment
Residents joined Tanisha for their music and entertainment session, which included singalongs and quizzes.
Join Cheverton for afternoon tea
Samantha Home Service Advisor for North London has been working on a number of projects and events with Contact The Elderly
Cheverton Lodge hosted a Tea Party for Contact the elderly on Sunday. We invited the local contact the elderly group to join some of our residents for Tea on Sunday afternoon. Everyone had a wonderful time. Here is a lovely email from the area coordinator.
Hi Samantha
I just wanted to say a big thank you to you and all the staff and residents for a lovely tea party yesterday. Everyone had a really nice time and it was nice for our guests to mix with other people...and June has made a new friend!
Thanks again, it’s so kind of you to do this for our guests.
Kindest regards
Isobel - Area coordinator
A special thank you to the kitchen and care staff at Cheverton for making it such a lovely day.
National Story Telling Week
To mark National Storytelling week (30th January to 6th February 2016) our Activities Coordinator put together some of the life stories shared by the residents over recent weeks and displayed these on a special presentation board in reception. Some of the residents had expressed a wish to raise funds for the victims of the crisis in Syria and so we also displayed some of the stories of older people living in Syria and how the war is affecting their access to health and care services. We raised money for the charity Age International throughout the week.
