Activities at Cheverton Lodge Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians, as well as art therapy, flower arranging, Exercise to music and quizzes. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.
Cara Nutt
I joined Cheverton Lodge in 2024 as an Activity Coordinator. I completed a Health and social care level 2 and performing arts at college. I have worked as an activity coordinator in a care home setting for over 5 years. I love my role, the passion and drive it gives me to ensure everyone receives a fun and fulfilled lifestyle, which is person centred to them.
I love being creative, I sing in my spare time alongside playing the electric guitar, piano and also writing my own music. I look forward to my journey here at Cheverton lodge, and bringing lots of fun!

Life at Cheverton Lodge Care Home
Live Music Entertainment
Sponsored by Live Music Now, Cheverton Lodge had the opportunity to enjoy an informal concert by some of the UK’s most exciting young ensembles Fran & Flora.
Drawing on musical influences from across the globe, Francesca Terberg (cello) and Flora Curzon (violin) lead a dynamic performance involving the residents.
Annual Summer BBQ
We had a fantastic time at our annual summer BBQ! Residents, loved ones, staff and members of the community joined us to enjoy some Pimm’s, musical show “ old times favourites” by Debbie.
Everybody sang along to famous tunes, and we had the best BBQ ever! This time British weather didn’t let us down Hurray!
Hope International Charity
The Hope International charity visited us as part of their community work programme. A group of more than 20 people of all ages joined us over the weekend and residents & relatives enjoyed their company. We played games and had lots of fun singing songs.
Finsbury Park Outing
Residents enjoyed a trip out to Finsbury Park, where they had a walk by the lake, fed swans and ducks and finished off with a well-deserved cup of coffee and some cake.
Puppet Show
The puppet show was an entertainment for all residents, but we discovered that it had a really positive, therapeutic effect on those leaving with dementia.
The show brought back memories from their childhoods and from times when raising their own children, many residents talked about past seaside trips and other traditional puppet shows. All residents were calmer, more sociable and happier. Everyone really enjoyed the performance and we look forward to having them back again.
Queen's Birthday
We had a lovely afternoon tea party to celebrate the Queen's birthday. Ailsa, a new member of the activities team, delighted us with a musical show for the residents, family and friends. Everyone was singing, dancing and having fun.
