Activities at Cheverton Lodge Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians, as well as art therapy, flower arranging, Exercise to music and quizzes. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.
Cara Nutt
I joined Cheverton Lodge in 2024 as an Activity Coordinator. I completed a Health and social care level 2 and performing arts at college. I have worked as an activity coordinator in a care home setting for over 5 years. I love my role, the passion and drive it gives me to ensure everyone receives a fun and fulfilled lifestyle, which is person centred to them.
I love being creative, I sing in my spare time alongside playing the electric guitar, piano and also writing my own music. I look forward to my journey here at Cheverton lodge, and bringing lots of fun!

Life at Cheverton Lodge Care Home
Summer BBQ
We had a fantastic time at our annual Summer BBQ! Residents, loved ones and members of the community joined us to enjoy some Pimm's, a country musical show where everybody sang along to famous tunes, a raffle and the best BBQ ever! However, the typical British weather let us down, so we couldn't be in the garden for this one.
Gardening
Residents enjoyed an afternoon in the garden working hard to have all the hanging baskets ready for our Summer BBQ Party.
Reminiscence Therapy: The '40s
Residents had a great time with Colin, who told stories about the '40s, World War 2, Hollywood and the good ol' songs that we all know and love.
Alexandra Palace Park
Residents enjoyed a trip out to Alexandra Palace Parl; they had a walk by the lake and finished off with a well-deserved cup of coffee and some cake.
International Women's Day
We celebrated International Woman's Day by remembering all those remarkable women who make a difference through science, arts, sports and politics around the world and by sharing some of the residents' amazing life stories! In the afternoon, Tanisha visited us for some mind and body therapy, which everybody enjoyed, and which was followed with a great afternoon party.
Easter Celebrations
We had a week full of fun activities leading up to Easter Sunday. Residents, relatives and staff members celebrated with a bonnet parade and our very special egg hunting competition.
