Activities at Claremont Parkway Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Claremont Parkway Care Home

Autumn walks in the garden

We were delighted to see that there are still brightly coloured flowers in the garden at Claremont Parkway when we went outside for some fresh air today.

Jayne enjoys a game of giant football

We have several giant games that residents play in our lounge. As well as being fun it helps to keep our joints moving. Jayne enjoyed kicking the giant football to friends at Claremont Parkway.

Chippy Tea for Peter

We love the food our in-house Chef and kitchen team make at Claremont Parkway, but occasionally we can't resist the taste and smell of traditional takeaway fish and chips. Chef Hayley and Head of Maintenance Steve took our minibus out and loaded it with residents' favourites from our local chippy. Everyone enjoyed their treat especially Peter.

Peter enjoys a wine-tasting session

Claremont Parkway Care Home had a great afternoon taking part in the Barchester-wide wine-tasting session, led virtually by an expert who used Zoom to reach residents in all of our homes. We ordered the wines in advance and Peter especially enjoyed the variety available. We learned which wines go with which types of food, and we started to recognise the subtleties of their flavour.

A visit from Lottie the canine volunteer

Lottie is a registered PAT (Pets as Therapy) dog and visits Claremont Parkway most weeks to enjoy cuddles from residents. We all look forward to Lottie's visits and residents find stroking her very calming and relaxing. Her owner Sally says Lottie loves all the attention.

Pride in our diversity

Claremont Parkway care home joined with other Barchester homes in Northamptonshire to support Northampton Pride Festival last weekend. We had a stall promoting Barchester’s person-centred approach to meeting the diverse support needs of people in later life. It was a fun day on the Market Square with food, games, music and lots of colour.
