Activities at Claremont Parkway Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Claremont Parkway Care Home

Celebrating the Greats on World Art Day
On Tuesday we honoured the power of creativity and its ability to inspire, heal, and connect us all, This special day also marked the birthday of one of history's greatest artists and thinkers-Leonardo da Vinci.
In tribute, our talented resident's spent the morning sketching and colouring a portrait of da Vinci himself, With steady hands and a thoughtful gaze they brought the Renaissance master to life on paper, capturing not just his likeness, but the spirit of curiosity and imagination he so famously embodied.
Art has no age limit, and moments like this remind us that creativity continues to flourish at every stage of life.
Our residents love art and each week we focus on a different artist, their work and life.

Beat Bus Local Police Surgery
Today we were joined by local Police Community Support Officers; Mike and Chrissie who parked up the Northamptonshire Police Neighbourhood Beat Bus in the Claremont Parkway carpark.
This mobile initiative is designed to bring policing closer to the community giving local residents the opportunity to learn about crime prevention, report local issues, and share their perspectives directly with the officers.
We are pleased to announce that we will be hosting a regular ‘Police Surgery’ at the home. Once the next surgery date is confirmed we'll advertise on this page giving you time to schedule your visit and compile any questions.
Complimentary refreshments will be available in the home throughout. We look forward to welcoming you.

On presenting Leah with her certificate and £25 voucher, General Manager, Joanna confirmed that her teamwork and willingness to support others hasn't gone unnoticed. Leah is a truly deserving recipient of this recognition. Congratulations, and thank you for all you do.

Saturday Fun with Floor Games
In the morning residents, had a friendly but competitive game of carpet bowls creating laughter and chats on playing various other games and sports such as tennis, badminton and ten pin bowling which residents seemed keen to go and do again at the local bowling centre.
In the afternoon we had a discussion on prices of things from 1955 to 2025 shocking some of the residents at the cost of living today compared to 1955, this was followed by a bean bag target game and other number challenges.
These activities offer physical, cognitive, and social benefits to our residents as well as encouraging friendly competition and teamwork, fostering social bonds with each other as well as keeping their minds active.
These activities promote a sense of achievement, routine and fun, contributing to residents' overall well-being and quality of life.

Glitz, Glamour and Song!
On Thursday the residents at Claremont were entertained by the lovely duo of Lesley Ann & Katie Rose who had both staff, residents and their families swaying and dancing to the music.
Singers in a care home setting provide residents with uplifting entertainment that enhances their emotional and mental well-being. Live music can evoke cherished memories, reduce feelings of loneliness, and create a joyful, social atmosphere.
The performances also encourage movement, singing along and social interaction all of which contribute to a greater sense of community and improved quality of life.
Thank you Lesley Ann & Katie Rose for a great afternoon.

Playgroup Chick Chat and Cuddles
Today at Claremont we held our monthly parent and baby group, creating a special opportunity for intergenerational interaction and community connection. The group brings together young families and our residents in a warm, welcoming environment filled with laughter, play, and gentle engagement.
Babies explored the space with curiosity, while residents’ eyes lit up with joy at the sounds of the little ones.
Activities included singing songs, play, shared stories and Mums discussing teething, sleep patterns and first steps. Today we held win the chick for Easter as well as all the babies being given an Easter cuddly toy.
A tombola was also held in the home to raise money for the Barchester cook of with some of our mums and residents winning prizes.
Due to the great success of this group our General Manager; Joanna has agreed to change its frequency to WEEKLY! We look forward to seeing you every Wednesday from now on.
