Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.
Martin Tilly-Reed
Hello, my name is Martin, I'm the activities coordinator here at Collingtree Park
My role is to ensure that our activities, outings and the entertainment we provide is stimulating and inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers enriching experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.
Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Collingtree Park that will make for a richer activities program to be developed.
I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.
We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Life at Collingtree Park Care Home
September Employee of the Month
Please join us in congratulating (night) Care Assistant; Broadwell Shamuyarira on receiving ‘Employee of the Month’ for September 2024.
Broadwell was nominated by our residents for his continued kindness, support and dignity towards their care and overall wellbeing. When presented with his certificate and £25 voucher, Broadwell couldn’t quite believe it saying 'I never win anything'.
We all agree his beautiful smile says it all! Well done Broadwell from all at Collingtree Park, this accolade is very well deserved.
Collingtree Wears it Pink!
Did you know that over 55,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the UK, thanks to research, more people are surviving breast cancer than ever before – ‘Wear it Pink’ day is one of Breast Cancer Now’s biggest fundraising events on Friday 18th October the residents and staff at Collingtree Park proudly wore all shades of pink in support of this incredible good cause.
Chef prepared a beautiful array of freshly baked cupcakes for our visitors to purchase and staff donated £1 to wear pink for the day; from scarfs to tee-shirts and even Senior Debbie's pink pyjama bottoms, it was wonderful to see so many get involved.
Nannette, one of our lovely Resident Ambassadors loves the colour pink and topped her outfit of with matching pink handbag. She’s a fashionista at the best of times and today certainly looked pretty in pink.
Mindfulness with Mita
Throwback to the incredible Mindful Meditation and Reiki session led by Mita, founder of Love Your Presence, at Collingtree Park Care Home Care Home on Grandparents Day.
It was a truly transformative experience as residents came together to relax and tap into their inner peace. Mita’s calming energy and expert guidance helped everyone feel more connected, grounded, and refreshed. The healing vibrations of Reiki and mindfulness left us all feeling lighter and more centred.
A heartfelt thank you to Mita for sharing her gift with us and to everyone who participated. Let’s continue to carry this peace and presence forward.
Community Crochet Project
As part of the homes initiative to keep our residents actively involved with the local community they have set up a new arm to the current ‘Knit and Natter’ group with the introduction of Crochet courtesy of volunteer; Amber from Swinton Creations .
Amber is a wonderful addition to the life enrichment team at Collingtree Park, she has the perfect temperament for teaching. From day one she had three of our impaired sight residents; Mavis, Betty and Pam finger knitting and several others back crocheting for the first time in years!
Having recently connected with members of the East Hunsbury Parish Council based at Hunsbury Library, our residents were honoured to be asked to help with their planned Remembrance Day display.
Our residents really enjoyed sewing the numerous beautifully handcrafted crochet poppies to the black netting which will, when full, form part of a larger community creation to be unveiled at the East Hunsbury commemorative service.
Sitting together reminiscing about what they used to knit, crochet or sew made for a fabulous afternoon.
Welcoming Cuddly 'Kylo'
Residents at Collingtree Park love the animal therapy sessions that our dedicated Activities Team organises regular doggie visits. As one of the foundations of our Life Enrichment program, we know that animal therapy can help reduce blood pressure and improve overall cardiovascular health.
Today, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Kylo, our newly-recruited adorable Bolognese therapy dog! His fluffy fur and friendly demeanour brought so much joy to our residents. From gentle cuddles to playful interactions, Kylo truly made the day brighter for everyone.
The smiles and memories he inspired were heart-warming. It’s amazing how a little fur and love can create such big moments! Thank you to Kylo and Mita who made this visit possible. We can't wait to have Kylo back again soon!
Apple Picking with Joan!
Today resident Joan had a wonderful time helping to apple pick at our own orchard. With the crisp autumn air and the warm morning sunshine, Joan, a native of Yorkshire, truly was in her element. Together we picked dozens of apples and shared them with our chefs for some homemade pies and snacks - Joan also had a taste of one. "I have never had one tasting like this," she said.
It was a great way to enjoy the season and spend some time outdoors. Thank you Joan for showing us how to embrace the beauty of autumn!
