Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Activities Coordinator

Martin Tilly-Reed

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Martin, I'm the activities coordinator here at Collingtree Park

My role is to ensure that our activities, outings and the entertainment we provide is stimulating and inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers enriching experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.

Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Collingtree Park that will make for a richer activities program to be developed.

I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.

We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here  to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Collingtree at Community Fete

We had tremendous fun at the Collingtree Parish Village fete on Saturday 22nd June as we hosted our Barchester 'Books and Bakes' stall. Donated by our lovely residents and super care team we met lots of the local community as they browsed our free books and tasted our chef's delicious home made cookies and cupcakes.

The Tennis club field was full of villagers of all ages, there were so many things to do and we even met Mayor Cllr Paul Joyce and Mayoress Mylissa Joyce who have agreed to visit our residents at our August Dementia cafe.

Enjoying the Garden and Sun

With the beautiful summer weather, our residents and colleagues took to our gardens for some fun in the sun! The residents enjoyed snacks and refreshments as they took part in a variety of garden themed activities; talking about the tall trees and different animals that live in them, the fruit and vegetables they used to grow and planting some of their own to make our garden even more beautiful in time for summer.

Collingtree Cycling Challenge

We got moving and put the ‘fun’ into ‘fundraising’ with activities that keep our staff, residents and visitors fit to raise money for Barchester's Charitable Foundation.

Last year, the Foundation achieved a donation milestone of £225,000 which enabled the charity to provide vital help to a staggering 160 small groups and charities, plus 87 individuals, in one year alone.

We're having the most wonderful time fundraising and were thrilled to be joined by Northampton Neighbourhood Policing Team's PCSO James Earl and Norm James, Community Safety Officer who helped resident Nanette and Pam add minute miles to our tally.

PAT Dog Therapy

Beautiful Pet Therapy dog; Eva loves to visit our residents twice a month and we simply adore seeing her Eva and her handler Gaye wonder around the home, stopping at every door to see if our residents would like to fuss and have a cuddle with Eva. This little pooches presence brings such joy to our residents and staff. What a wonderful way to keep our residents wellbeing levels up!

Get Barchester Moving!

We've kickstarted 'Get Barchester Moving' with our residents on Memory Lane this week - with ball games, tennis and even darts all designed to strengthen the upper body. Everyone had a lovely afternoon and still had the energy to sing a little karaoke afterwards! Well done everyone, lets keep moving and a grooving!

Happy Birthday Lovely 'Lynne'

Happiest of birthdays to lovely smiley Lynne!

Lynne joined us a few weeks ago, and said today "Thank you so much for making me feel welcomed and looked after. I have been told about your cakes but really didn't expect everyone to turn out - especially to sing to me! Thank you everyone". We're so happy you have enjoyed your birthday Lynne, thank you for sharing your cake with us too!
