Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Activities Coordinator

Martin Tilly-Reed

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Martin, I'm the activities coordinator here at Collingtree Park

My role is to ensure that our activities, outings and the entertainment we provide is stimulating and inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers enriching experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.

Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Collingtree Park that will make for a richer activities program to be developed.

I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.

We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here  to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Happy Birthday 'Jayne'

Today we wished one of our residents the happiest of birthdays, Jayne who was inundated with cards and flowers, as well as one of chef's special birthday cakes said she'd had a wonderful day.

Thank you to everyone who sent Jayne a card, presents and well wishes on her special day. As you can see by her smile  she loved every minute!

Garden Crafts

Thank you to our wonderful gardener, Andy, for securing our insect houses that were painted on Daisy Lane a few weeks ago! Pam said "I noticed the little house after reading the Faraway Tree, and it really brought a smile to my face- as did the 'squirrel table' too!".

We think they look lovely - thank you Andy!

Church Service

Thank you to Vicar James for delivering Holy Communion this morning in the Activities Café. The residents said "It's so important that we are able to meet once a month and have communion as we have done all our lives. It really keeps our spirits up to come together for this service".

Happy Manicure Day

We love manicure day at Collingtree Park. Whilst our ladies enjoyed their weekly manicure, Derek told me how he used to let his daughters practice their beautician skills on him too... Dad duties!

In spirit of this, he kindly asked if I would like to practice my painting before giving manicures to the ladies - and he was so pleased with the result he kept it on to show to my next clients. Happy manicure day from the ladies (and Derek) at Collingtree Park.

Happy 103rd Birthday 'Joan'

Yesterday we celebrated a very special birthday at Collingtree Park with one of our fabulous residents; Joan turning 103 years young!

She enjoyed an array of cakes, cards and presents - as well as lots of singing and celebrations with staff and family too. Liz, Joan's daughter said "Thank you so much for everything you do for mum, she is so happy here".

Taking a Stroll

Pam and activities lead; Skye made the most of the dry afternoon by taking a stroll around the neighbourhood. We spent time identifying different types of mushrooms, flowers and trees (whilst also trying to guess how tall they were!) and enjoying the simple pleasure of some sunshine on our faces! We came back just in time for keep fit and a cup of tea!
