Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Activities Coordinator

Martin Tilly-Reed

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Martin, I'm the activities coordinator here at Collingtree Park

My role is to ensure that our activities, outings and the entertainment we provide is stimulating and inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers enriching experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.

Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Collingtree Park that will make for a richer activities program to be developed.

I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.

We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here  to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

International Chocolate Cake Day

Well all the good intentions of January certainly went out the window today in celebration of International Chocolate Cake day as Collingtree Park's head chef; Jenni produced the most amazing array of Chocolate cupcakes for our residents and staff to indulge their guilty pleasures.

Did you know that a popular Philadelphia cookbook author, Eliza Leslie, published the earliest chocolate cake recipe in 1847 in The Lady's Receipt Book. Looking at Jenni's creations we think she could write her own bestselling cook book!

Everyone agreed they looked and tasted fabulous!

Turkish Barber Delights

Gentlemen's pamper day! Our Turkish barber visited the home today to smarten up all our lovely gents.

At Collingtree Park our in house beauty salon provides a chair for various local services; Monday's Barber, Tuesday and Fridays will be our new Nail Technician offering; hand massage and pedicures, polish or acrylics with Wednesday and Thursday appointments available with our unisex Hairdresser. Our residents can benefit from looking their best at all times.

Alpaca Adventure!

The home was full of animal mischief yesterday when a group of alpacas came to visit. Our wonderful residents were pleasantly surprised to see their new furry friends roaming around their home and gardens as the team from Easton Way Farm paid a visit.

General Manager Tom said: “Our residents have really enjoyed their unusual visitors today. We knew that having the farm here would be a bit of fun for all our residents, especially as some find it difficult to go on many outings in our minibus. We are always looking for new activities for the residents and today we have seen the seen the enjoyment and the therapeutic influence animals can have on people.”

As the gorgeous ‘Malibu, Coco and Aurora’ wandered around some commented: “As a child I used to love all the animals on the nearby farm. Today was very enjoyable and it was wonderful that the animals were free to roam amongst us. They’re so fluffy, it’s made my day!”

What a fabulous day of furry fun we've all had with this little troop of Alpaca.
