Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.
Martin Tilly-Reed
Hello, my name is Martin, I'm the activities coordinator here at Collingtree Park
My role is to ensure that our activities, outings and the entertainment we provide is stimulating and inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers enriching experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.
Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Collingtree Park that will make for a richer activities program to be developed.
I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.
We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Beautiful Barnetts!
Another big thank you to wonderful Bev for making our residents feel beautiful. Barbara said "It's been ages since I've had my hair done and I feel so much lighter - and I only had an inch off!".
Bev offers hairdressing services to all of our residents and seniors in the local community - Simply call the home to book an appointment.
Weekly Gardening Club
Our weekly gardening club is up and running and we are so pleased! To kickstart our club, our residents have been planting Busy Lizzies and sweet peas for our garden.
Gardener Andy, supported residents with planting the flowers, as well as building a trellis for our sweet peas to climb. He said "We will check up on our flowers every week to see their progress, and hopefully the sweet peas will have climbed a bit more every week".
Betty said "I love being out in the garden, and there's something about planting new flowers that makes you feel happy, like Summer is just around the corner!".
We will be sharing our weekly progress of our plants and from this week we will have our plant of the week to start educating our new gardening club members.
An Afternoon with 'Eva'
Thank you to Gaye for bringing Eva along to our care home to support our residents with Pets As Therapy Our residents loved petting, feeding and cuddling up with Eva and hearing about her many holidays to the beach with her family. We're already looking forward to seeing you again soon!
Summer Menu Revealed
This morning our residents have been involved in planning our 'Summer Menu' in a meeting with Chef Jennifer. Residents discussed their favourite starters, main courses and desserts, and were invited to share ideas with chef about what they would like to see on the upcoming menu this August.
Chef also made attendees some fruity cookies and juices to keep them refreshed during the meeting. We look forward to seeing the new menu!
Dementia Action Week - Music and Dance
During Dementia Action Week we celebrated the power of music!
Music of all types can stimulate memories, induce laughter and song all particularly beneficial for those living with dementia. One of our resident’s favourites’ Alan Salter uses his keyboard skills to take our residents down memory lane and always gets the crowd singing and dancing.
Keep on Walking Sharon!
To celebrate Dementia Action Week we at Collingtree would like to wish our fabulous volunteer Sharon good luck for her 31 Miles in May walk for Dementia UK Sharon's lovely parents lived with us at Collingtree Park, and Sharon has continued to support with many of our community events including our monthly Dementia Café.
Good luck with your fundraising and the walk. You're a star!
