Activities at Crabwall Hall Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Jacqui Cameron

Activities Coordinator

We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home and we work together to give residents the best possible experience. We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends. The home also has its very own minibus for our numerous outings for coffee and shopping, which residents love.

Life at Crabwall Hall Care Home

A trip to Sainsburys

Another busy day at Crabwall Hall today. This morning Karen took Dorothy out to Sainsbury’s for a coffee and look around the shop. Dorothy loves to go out on her one to ones. And yes she did drink all her coffee even though the mug was nearly as big as her. In the afternoon Jacqui and Karen helped everyone make Valentine sweet cones for their loved ones. And I swear no sweets passed our mouths. Karen’s husband was made one which he said to say thank you very much. After that we had a game of hangman which is something the residents always enjoy.

Shopping at Asda

Today resident Elsie had a lovely one to one trip out to our local Asda to have a little look around and a nice coffee with activities Karen, then after lunch residents enjoyed a lovely performance by Paul Stuart, many thanks for a lovely performance Paul we all had a great time.

Children in Need

Yesterday our staff and residents, took part in helping to raise money for children in need. We dressed in pudsey tshirts or in yellow, held a raffle and even decorated our cupcakes with yellow icing, we had a lovely day and enjoyed raising some money for a special charity.

A Trip to Daleside Garden Center

Yesterday our residents had a lovely time at Daleside Garden Center in Hawarden, the Christmas displays are beautiful, we had a nice warm coffee and mince pie, after lunch activities held a Royal quiz then we raised a toast to King Charles on his 75th birthday, we hope he had a lovely day.

A trip to the Port and Anchor

October 12th our residents has another lovely trip out on the mini bus to the Port and Anchor at Ellesmere Port Boat Museum for a lovely lunch and entertainment, I think they thoroughly enjoyed the food and wine, even a little dance, we then made good use of the dry weather with a lovely walk around the dock just in time for a ship to go past. Our residents and activities team Jacqui and Karen had a brilliant time and look forward to going again.

A Gift for Ken

Resident Ken is very fond of a photograph of his beloved dogs from the 1970's, in the photo the mum has her front paw hugging the pup, Ken treasures this small photo and always shows you when going into his room, the photo is only wallet size but means the world to Ken.

Our activities lead Jacqui went above and beyond, to get this picture enlarged and framed but also have the photo but onto a mug so Ken can see it all the time, Ken was overwhelmed with the kind gift and said he will treasure the gift.
