Activities at Crabwall Hall Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Jacqui Cameron
We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home and we work together to give residents the best possible experience. We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends. The home also has its very own minibus for our numerous outings for coffee and shopping, which residents love.

Happy 101st Birthday Mary!
Yesterday it was our beautiful Mary’s 101st Birthday. Our lovely Irish Colleen is never without a smile on her face which brightens up the room. Mary spends all day in the lounge and joins in every activity. She is one in a million and is loved by everyone one of us. Ned The Therapy Dog is so fond of our beautiful queen that’s he makes sure he visits her first for a lovely cuddle. Mary’s always looks forward from a visit from her beautiful family
and friends. She just makes everyone smile and laugh. She especially loves a sherry before lunch. So from us all at Crabwall Hall we would like to wish this very special lady a very Happy 101st Birthday. We all love you loads Mary and a big thanks to the joy you bring to our home and our hearts.
A visit from Robbers Dogs Bikers Club
Well what can I say . This afternoon we had the pleasure of the Robbers Dogs a local biker’s club come to visit. These great bunch of guys do so much work for local charities. They came and picked up 70 Easter Eggs that family and staff at Crabwall Hall had collected for local children. They had an extra group member with them today , Jacqui our activities lead . It was the first time she had ridden on a bike and she loved it . The residents didn’t know she was coming on a bike so it was a complete surprise to them all . Everyone loved all the bikes especially Reg and Ken . We would like to say a big thank you to these wonderful guys for making this afternoon extra special for us all . Next time they come to visit hopefully the weather will be a lot nicer.

A trip to Sainsburys
Another busy day at Crabwall Hall today. This morning Karen took Dorothy out to Sainsbury’s for a coffee and look around the shop. Dorothy loves to go out on her one to ones. And yes she did drink all her coffee even though the mug was nearly as big as her. In the afternoon Jacqui and Karen helped everyone make Valentine sweet cones for their loved ones. And I swear no sweets passed our mouths. Karen’s husband was made one which he said to say thank you very much. After that we had a game of hangman which is something the residents always enjoy.
Shopping at Asda
Today resident Elsie had a lovely one to one trip out to our local Asda to have a little look around and a nice coffee with activities Karen, then after lunch residents enjoyed a lovely performance by Paul Stuart, many thanks for a lovely performance Paul we all had a great time.
Children in Need
Yesterday our staff and residents, took part in helping to raise money for children in need. We dressed in pudsey tshirts or in yellow, held a raffle and even decorated our cupcakes with yellow icing, we had a lovely day and enjoyed raising some money for a special charity.
